TRIORAL Electrolyte Powder Oral Rehydration Salts, 100 Drink Packets

This is really good for dehydration. I've been using it for years. I highly recommend for POTS patients. I have gotten used to the taste. I at this point, do not think it has much taste, but a friend did take a drink and he thought it was awful. This is not overly sugared to hide the salt. Sports drinks actually don't have much sodium. It dissolves. I feel it has good solubility. I can't stand powders that don't dissolve. I've never had any stomach issues with it.

I live where it is quite hot for much of the year and due to medical issues, It’s really important that I stay hydrated. Have really been looking for an electrolyte mix that is truly flavorless that I could have either alone or mix with different kinds of fruit juice. This has been the first electrolyte mix that I found that reliably meets this criteria. Also, really love that the only things that are in it are things that you need nothing you don’t to quickly hydrate. A true life saver in the summertime. I bought this package to try it out and like it so much I have since ordered the large bulk pack of these so that I always have some on hand. Great for when you are out and about and for travel. The only thing I really wish could be changed with this product is that because of how you have to rip it open, it can sometimes be quite difficult to do without a pair of scissors, and so it would be nice if they can find a way to make this easier to open for those that may not have a lot of finger dexterity and/or hand strength. Even with this issue II think this product is definitely worth it , especially compared to a lot of other electrolyte products I have tried over the last few years. Also works well for rehydrating if you have nausea and vomiting and are sensitive to smells and taste because of these issues. I think it is a better buy pricewise per packet to buy the bulk pack because ultimately it’s cheaper. However, for this pack of 10 to just try them is a good idea to assess if it’s something that you like and works for you.

Way cheaper than LMNT etc. Way more sodium, and at correct amounts. Once you get used to mixing your own for sports drinks, you won’t miss lack of flavor. Plain water, this, and sugar is delicious. Just don’t use the whole packet unless you really want a salty drink. A box lasts a long time because you can make a couple liters from one pack if it’s for sports drink purposes.

A family member who has POTS secondary to ME CFS uses this to help manage what can be debilitating symptoms. She says it makes the water tastes slightly milky, no problems with digestion. Once mixed is best consumed room temperature within a few hours, otherwise we keep it refrigerated. The pre measured packets make it very easy to mix. The mix dissolves easily in a little hot tap water with a few good shakes. We then add cold filtered water to make 1 litre, and it’s ready to drink immediately. We use one litre glass bottles to mix and store the water. We have found that if it’s stored in a plastic container room temp for more than 6-8 hours it can start to create a bit of a slimy film on the plastic. 1600 mg sodium for my POTS. I drink them daily with juice bc they’re too salty on their own. They’re a good supplement for powdered electrolytes bc they usually don’t have enough salt for dysautonomia

I do not particularly enjoy the flavor of these packets. However, I have a high sodium need due to a health condition & this is an easy solution. It is one of the only electrolytes I’ve found with no citric acid. It dissolves well. I add in my own water flavoring with it.

I enjoyed the mild flavor, not a massive sweet drink that you wonder if you will gain a massive amount of weight. I really enjoyed the mild taste, not really a flavor, and knowing that it has salts that stabilize dehydration. It helped me with my dizziness. Try it, you might like it better than sweet drinks that make you more thirsty.

Bottom line: cheaper than competitors, highly effective rehydration, tastes ok at room temp, decent cold, gross hot I am in military flight school and we are flying in the afternoons in the middle of summer in the Deep South. Daily temps are around 100, with high humidity. My flight suit is drenched in sweat before I even make it to the aircraft, then we have to climb around during preflight before spending several hours in a dark green metal box with no AC. My first day I drank a half gallon of water, didn't pee, and had a severe dehydration headache. The second day I used a packet of my wife's Liquid Iv. It helped, but I still had a headache (plus those are expensive). I did some research and I found this product on some Reddit posts about the medical condition known as POTS, it seems to be highly effective in helping their symptoms. At half the price per packet as liquid IV, I ordered 100. My technique is to drink about a half a packet before I leave for the day, drink a big bottle of regular water while we are doing our briefing, refill that, then during preflight I will drink from a cooled blender bottle with the other half of my packet. I will use up my other water bottle during the rest of the flight. I've felt great every day and have not had any symptoms of dehydration despite sweating for about five hours straight every day. This is absolutely a stronger rehydration packet than Liquid Iv. Of course... yes.. it does not taste sweet like other products, it really is just salts. If it's cold, it's not bad at all. At home i keep a pitcher of sweet tea on hand and I have found even just a big splash of it on top of my salty water mix will make it quite palatable. However, if you're in a situation like mine, I would recommend drinking it before it gets warm. If I wait to drink my blender bottle of Trioral and it gets hot in the aircraft, it's kinda like drinking sweat.
