This is a good buy. I cut the 3 sheets in half and used it in 6 drawers.

When I looked back, there IS something in the description that says it “comes in layers“, so I can’t be too mad… What that means is it’s thin layers of foam that are glued together, and pretty poorly at that. Lots of big bubbles where the glue was already separated on arrival. If you just need padding, I’m sure this will work. But if you plan to cut it for any purpose, I would avoid it.

Huge Bubbles in the product.Appears to be between layers, but makes the sheet not consistent.Not useable as a tool box liner as advertised. Cutting out for tools on a non consistent surface is not possible with a router.Cutting out for tools with a knife yields inconsistent depths.Horrible, Horrible product.I have used several over the year, and this is by far the worst quality I have ever seen.

Think of it like using a pegboard where someone has traced the shape of the tool that goes on a specific hook. The foam works like that but in lets you nestle your more expensive chisels, specialty tools, carving gouges in an environment that keeps moisture down, holds the tools, and keeps things organized.

Getting organized can take a lot of time, but things like this foam can be a fantastic way to not only keep things neat and clean, but also help you keep inventory of what has been left out. I like the large format of this foam, but it doesn't always match my drawer sizes very well so there was a bit of waste. It's also not as thick as some others I've tried. There is also less flexibility in cut depth due to the number of layers in the foam.That being said, it isn't the worst thing I've ever used and the price is pretty good. So it might fit you better than it did me.

Really if you "need" foam like this I think I believe you "know" what you are getting. The pictures used for the item pretty much "show" the "type" of foam you are getting IMO. (I really don't know how to "describe" it unless you "know" this I guess?)With that being said, this product is a quality version of this "type" of foam. It is well made and has a very satisfactory density IMO. (Another reviewer mentioned how cutting will "open up the pours" of the foam and this is true. (I think for most foams this would be true though?) It also will deform if heavy objects are put on top of it for too long too as they said. However, as far as this is concerned, I personally think it "balances" the "firmness/softness" well as if it was firm enough to withstand deformation from heavy objects placed on top of it, that would mean it wouldn't be "soft" enough to place tools into IMO?) While I agree with the other reviewers' opinions and acknowledge they are 100% correct in their concerns, I do not feel taking a star off for this as I personally feel it is just the "nature" of this type of foam and no foam is perfect. I think this foam is very well made and has a very good "balance" in all of these things and worthy of 5 stars for that reason IMO.It arrived in the "product box" only, no Amazon outer box and was "abused" during the delivery a bit. One end of the box was torn up and the ends of one end of the foam itself were "exposed". I only mention this because all three pieces of the foam were still in pristine condition! These are VERY LARGE pieces of foam so I do not think that any kind of direct price comparison can be made to other sellers as they sell substantially smaller pieces of this "type" of foam. (Of unknown quality to me as I have not reviewed those.) I can say that the quality of this foam is VERY good, and I DO think that these larger sheets are essential for larger toolboxes for various reasons. 5 Stars IMO.
