This is not battery operated. It can be operated by hand. **Q: Can all the parts be cleaned in a dishwasher?** A: Iā€™d imagine they can. The included brush makes short work of the gun barrel. Everything else is easy to clean under hot water and a scrubby sponge. **Q: Can anyone tell me what is the diameter size for the attachments? I want to use this to make churros. The dies I have are 2 in.** A: The outside diameter of the nozzles are 2 1/4". It fits snugly into the sleeve that you screw onto the tube. The inside diameter of the sleeve that holds the nozzle is 1 3/4". Churro dough is not as firm as the mixture I used to make jerky, so if may squeeze out around the nozzle. You'd have to be very exacting when placing the nozzle into the sleeve because you'd only have 1/8" all the way around. Good luck. **Q: i had a problem with a jerky gun because it couldn't push the deer ground meat through the nuzzle. i gather you didn't have a problem with this one?** A: this gun is all metal and I have not experienced any problems wit it. With that being said I use it at least once a week and it is very heavy duty.
