Good aroma from the quarter sized mushroom, soaked it in water for over an hour, its size doubled. The stems were cut off. The mushrooms were tender and easy to chew, the aroma carries from dehydrated to the final dish. It fills the kitchen. Use the water that you soaked the mushrooms in, it carries lots of the flavors.

One of my favorite quick meals is adding mushrooms to my favorite frozen thin crust cheese pizza. The issue of course with fresh mushrooms is you have to use them within a few days. These let me use them when I was ready for them. They rehydrated nicely then I blotted them dry, sliced and added to my pizza. I enjoyed it as much as if they had been fresh.

Full sized unsliced dehydrated shiitake mushrooms. I love getting them dehydrated because it is so easy to store and rehydrate when needed. Bag is resealable. You get a good amount here and they rehydrate well and have good flavor. As always, the water from rehydrating the mushrooms can also be used in your broths and all kinds of things.

Eight ounces of dried shitake mushrooms is a LOT of mushrooms! The mushrooms are very dry, clean looking, have a pleasantly earthy aroma, are small to medium in size, and have had the stems removed already (which I appreciate). They're ready to add right into soups or stews if you plan to use them whole, but you'll want to reconstitute them in water first of you plan to slice them up. The package directions say to soak for 30 minutes, but they only needed about 10 minutes to soften up when added to warm water that I'd microwaved for a minute. Then they were ready to slice, chop, or cook. Save the water you soaked them in and use it to add even more flavor when making rice or ramen. These have a wonderful flavor and they come in a resealable bag (which is good because there are a LOT of them)!

A majority of these take quite a while to evenly rehydrate, but these shrooms have excellent flavor and texture once they are softened. A shame there's so little in the bag, but honestly no complaints. These still worked great in a quick mushroom soup!

This large bag of Orsky Dried Shiitake Mushrooms come vacuum sealed and dried. They are whole shiitake caps, not pieces and stems. Per the directions, I placed some in water for 30 minutes They were quite delicious, with that wonderful roasted umami shiitake flavor. They still had a slight al dente texture to them, though, so I’d soak them a little longer, or actually cooking them a while in a soup or sauté. Really yummy, and great to have on hand in the pantry.
