be aware that this is made with peanut oil and has peanuts in it.came double wrapped in bubble wrap. everyone needs more bubble wrap.before opening, turn jar upside down and shake for 30 seconds and let rest for 1 minute. this gets everything redistributed.open carefully. chili oil will stain ANYTHING.the smell is slightly sweet, woodsy, earthy and peppery in a very good way.took a very, very small sample to taste. i didn't know that warmth had a taste. the oil actually had a fresh crispness along with the bits of pepper and peanuts was also a slight woodsy sweetness but then...yeah it's hot. and it lingers and lingers and makes your lips go hot and numb at the same time.i put it on hotdogs, hamburgers, in my ramen, even experimented with adding just a touch to some leftover vanilla-cinnamon ice cream...i now have no ice cream.the cost was unbeatable.the good news is that when you're running low, like down to about 1/4 left, if you take some good quality oil like sunflower or grapeseed, i have both, heat them up and carefully pour back into the remnant and let sit for 1 full day, you'll have some more chili oil that is not as hot or numbing but great for stir fry for folks that don't take spicy-heat well.

This is good stuff. I mix in some of this with ground pork, scallions, egg, ginger, cilantro and whatever else I have laying around and stuff mushrooms with it and bake them off. Absolutely killer!!!! Just enough of all the spices you are looking for. My youngest son loves this on his rice. I have to put this up and away from him. He says he has a bit of an addiction problem with this stuff!!! Lol. It's a nice size jar too. Good price.

This is so good and gives a wonderful kick and flavor to a lot of dishes. Also great to use as a dip for egg rolls and wontons.

Love the product but no matter what I do the jar ends up leaking all over my refrigerator.

This is my first time trying chili oil in any way and this is delicious. Absolutely love the crunchy bits and you can pick your own spice level by adding more to your dish or not. Find myself making dishes just to use this sometimes.

Item arrived leaking into the plastic wrap. I tried to get a replacement, but was prompted that this item is not able to be returned. Buyer beware that if you purchase this item and it arrives damaged, you’re just out of your money.

I have been using for 25 years. A friend brought us a few bottles from Indonesia and it seemed a lot hotter than the ones sold in the U.S. but it's still has a good flavor. I always put it on my rice.
