Great starter set for learning Lorcana. I enjoyed learning and playing thought it with a friend. The kit walks you through the game and how it's played then adds more cards to the deck as you progress through the tutorial - increasing complexity. There's a few cards in here that are solid and can be added to future decks which is nice. Overall, highly recommend checking this out if you want to learn Lorcana. Especially if you can find it on sale.

We are in our mid 50's and never played a TCG before. This is a great way to learn. Gateway takes you from the basics and adds different gameplay concepts through four gates, each with their own quests to complete. Each gateway represents a certain card play type and the quest/goals are making plays that represent that gateway. Numbered add-on decks are added after completing each gates quest. After going through and adding all four packs you have 2 full starter decks to continue playing, modifying with other cards to make a better deck or reset the decks and let someone else learn how to play. We may not be the greatest players but we are having a lot of fun.

Lorcana Gateway serves as a great introduction for the game. My 8 year old son and I have had a blast learning the game mechanics, seeing all the familiar characters, and spending time together. While you won't get the expensive cards in this game, you get two solid beginner decks to learn the basics. Strongly recommend watching the accompanying videos to learn the rules and the flow of the game.

Got this for my daughter for Christmas. She is 8 years old. Takes a bit of time to learn to play helpful how to videos are easy to find. The art work is neat and the concept is cool. It has stages and challenges to keep it interesting. The cards are of great quality and my daughter is looking forward to playing more.

A good introduction to the game. It takes you through the playing process and the best bit is the gradual introduction of new cards and concepts as you complete goals. For seasoned players of games like Magic the Gathering, the first level is a bit quick but the extra levels and cards add more satisfying play. How does it compare to similar games? It is a cross between MTG and Keystone with the Disney touch. You will need the app to explain some of the card terms such as ‘ward’.
