Dear Varun: Yes this is good for colour sketching .Though you should use a mix of graphite and colour pencils, soft pastels to complete the picture. This box has 24 shades-all of which can be used in portraiture-skin tones especially. Asian flesh tones tend toward less variation than brown flesh tones and considerably less variation in tone within the individual face. This one is student grade luna colour pencil of 24 shades. This is non water soluble. For architecture or interior designing use water soluble Luna colour pencil which comes in 12,24,36,48shades.
