Oval Rim Knob Review: Good quality traditional door furniture - Well made with a the rough finish expected on basic cast knobs. The grub screws have very shallow and narrow slots which makes tightening them awkward, easily remedied with a couple if strokes of a hacksaw but it would be better not to have to do that! A drop of 'Loctite' would not be a bad idea. For doors over 50mm or so thick you might need to purchase a longer spindle. Review: Bar quite short. Looks good apart from handle screw rusting. - Overall this made a really nice replacement for the old plastic one on my wife's shed. It could use more detail on the listing as to the length of the bar and position of the holes on the bar. Ideally it would come perhaps with a couple of bars of different lengths. The listing says two "pegs", but I've only just seen this and convinced mine came with just one if that's what they mean by a peg. On a tongue and groove door with a rim lock, the bar was slightly shorter than the existing and only just long enough. Also had to fiddle around swapping the direction of the bar and trying the various holes to secure the handles. Just about got it to work, but it's going to be a bit of pot luck if you're trying to swap one out. Once on it suits a traditional shed and has an aged look. Black screws supplied are handy although the one securing the external handle is rusty after the first rain shower. I had a small problem as the threaded holes in the bar weren't EXACTLY where I wanted them to be, meaning the handles were a tad loose. I imagine that's always a problem with such fittings. I fixed it with a black rubber washer used as a spacer. Overall I'm pleased with them, they look pretty good **Q: have they got return spring in** A: Hi.No, they haven’t. I Used them on a shed door where there’s a spring in the lock mechanism **Q: On the picture, I see two knobs but only one circle where the 3 screws should go. Is it provided with 2 circles (one for each side of the door)?** A: No, the picture is correct. This set is to be used in conjunction with a surface mounted door rim lock, such as (but not limited to) my reference B0088V8CYO. In this situation the rim lock fits on the door and the knob (furthest away in the picture) fits up against this knob. What I suspect you may be looking for however is an Oval Mortice Door Knob Set, which can be used on interior non locking doors with a latch.
