Solid bit of kit, well presented
On opening this set it was clear that they were well-manufactured. Connections are finished correctly and brackets are supplied.A handy diagram is also provided, so that you can calculate the best fixing position given weight of item and required lift.So much cheaper than paying for a ready made furniture item - looking forward to using them for my Murphy bed project.

Quality struts, as advertised in size/strength, arrive with with study brackets & nice instructions
No complaints with these struts they arrived very nicely packaged in a thick branded plastic pouch with the individual struts and the provided brackets and hex nuts packaged into their own protective pouches and grip-seal bag. Alongside that you also get a set of nicely written instructions with informative diagrams and various recommendations and safety tips for handling and installing the struts. There is also a very helpful video in the product page, so I think it’s fair to say they’ve given customers more than enough information to make an informed decision so that they don’t end up with the wrong strut length or strength. The struts are well made with no concerning marks or blemishes that would indicate any corners were cut in the making of them. Each end of the two struts has an angled connector pre-threaded onto the ends which lets them move as needed while going through their full stroke. The provided angle brackets are perfectly square and made from thick zinc plated steel and are definitely up to the task.I have a pair of old wooden chests that have hinged lids that weigh about 9kg, so I split this pair up while installing them as they’re rated for 10kg each, or 20kg as a pair. This wasn’t the first time I've measured up and installed or replaced struts, so the process wasn’t entirely new to me. So it didn’t take all that much time or effort and I had two wooden chests with lids that would open easily and stay open while the contents were being accessed. The lids will gradually open themselves once they’re unlatched, but that’s to be expected if you’re using slightly over specced struts like me. It’s actually a benefit for my application, and it’s alright as long as it doesn’t fly open and pose a risk to someone. You get everything you need for this except for some fasteners for attaching it to whatever you’re using them for, but that’s fair as the possible applications for these are endless, and they can’t cover every possibility.Happy to recommend these and Arana seems to have reasonably priced struts covering a very wide range of sizes and strengths.

ARANA Gas Struts: Heavy-Duty Helpers with a Few Quirks
These ARANA gas struts seem pretty solid for hefty lids. They're made for weights between 30-39kg, so they've got some serious lifting power. The 500mm length is good for bigger projects. What's cool is the L-type brackets - you can twist them around to fit different setups. That's handy if you're working with an awkward space. The stainless steel build is a nice touch too. Should hold up well against rust and wear.Installation might be a bit tricky if you're not handy, but they offer help if you need it. Just shoot them a message. And if anything's off with the product, they've got an 18-month replacement deal, which is pretty generous. One thing to watch out for - make sure you measure your lid weight before buying. Getting the wrong size could be a real headache.Overall, these look like a solid choice if you need some heavy-duty gas struts. Just double-check your measurements and don't be shy about asking for help if you need it during installation.
