All effects work well, have not tried the variations yet. This mini amp has a real clean sound and also provides crisp distorted tones when used with the right amount of gain. No humming, battery life is really good so far (Two AAA batteries on top of that). If used on a Startocaster, it can be safely left on it for storing and quick access later on due to its rotatable plug (although keep in mind it only rotates a 180 degress not all the way round, which is a slight bummer). The power and loudness for that matter surprised me. Did not expect this from a mini amp. This is helpful when on the go as its pretty portable and saves a lot of space and even better to keep the sound only to yourself or play in the middle of the night. You can also hook this up to a portable speaker and play equally well if you need a replacement for the regular amp. Review: Great little amp.. - This is a fantastic product.. I only get time to practice in the night, and this is ideal for me.. The clean tone (with low gain) is warm and the high gain sound sound is quite crunchy. Also the three effects are nice to have, though I seldom use it.. Only little problem I see is, when I plug it into my strat, the controls are downwards. If the plug could rotate 270 degrees instead of 180 degrees, the problem wouldn't have arisen.
