All The Rivers Run [DVD]

Love this movie. Saw it 20 years ago on TV. Was glad to find it on Amazon. I read in the reviews that some people couldn't play it on their DVD player. I also bought a LG DP132H All Multi Region Code Region Fr DVD Player and had no trouble playing it.

Great scenery, good story, good show.

Sorry, but I didn’t know this was not a USA formatted dvd set. So I have to try to return. Love this miniseries and watched it many times on VHS but no longer have that format.

All The Rivers Run was shown on television a long time ago as a mini-series. The two main characters (Deli and Brenton) are played by Sigrid Thornton and John Waters. They are perfectly cast for their roles and just bring this unforgettable love story alive!Philadelphia "Deli" Gordon and the Captain of the ship, are the only survivors of a shipwreck that crashes against the rocks during a violent storm. Deli goes to live with her uncle, aunt, and mischievous cousin at a small farm on the riverbank. She comes into an inheritance and asks her aunt and uncle to get a tutor for her and her cousin. Deli and her cousin get along well, but he hates farming, and eventually leaves home to work in town. Her uncle is a charmer and tries to guide her along the way, but it's obvious her aunt doesn't like her at all. Deli leaves the farm and goes into town to be an artist. Eventually she studies in Melbourne and gains guidance and a suitor. Her talent continues to grow. She is drawn into the Bohemian lifestyle very quickly, but whatever happens in her life, she is always drawn back to Brenton.Brenton Edwards is the first mate on a paddleboat on the river that goes by the farm where Deli is staying. He sees her sometimes and tries to get her attention, but she ignores him at first. Brenton is handsome, charming, adventurous, ambitious, smart, and loves the paddleboats and the river with a passion. He keeps trying to be a suitor to Deli, but sometimes gets sidetracked by a fight, a paddleboat race, a pretty face, etc. His goal is to be the captain of his own paddleboat. This is an exciting but very dangerous occupation, but Brenton loves the paddleboats and the river, and can't or won't have his life any other way.Brenton and Deli are just meant to be together, but so many things come between them during their long journey. Will they find true happiness together? There is so much more to the story, but I don't want to ruin it for anyone.After I saw "All the Rivers Run" the first time, I just had to read the book! Ever since, I have been looking for this dvd, and finally found one here, at last!This mini-series contains three dvds, and despite the story's age, the picture looks very good, so it must have been cleaned up. There are also interviews with John Waters and Sigrid Thornton, and I really enjoyed every minute of the dvds!

Loved this series when it was on TV. And I have looked on off for year's . So when I saw it on amazon. At last. I had to have it . And it's just as I remembered it ..... lovely

J'ai choisi cette note car petit bémol sous titrage français inexistantje le garde quand même car j'adore ce film par contre je regrette que le sous titrage soit inexistant pour moi c'est une publicite mensongère donc je ne recommanderais pas un DVD sous titréJe trouve vraiment pas normal qu'on ose vendre un DVD avec de mauvaises infos

A very interesting story. Well told and well acted. The fact that I have been to this part of Australia makes it even more interesting. Not watched all the episodes yet but looking forward to doing that.
