Take Away the A

One of my favourite children's books, brilliantl illustrations guide you through an A to Z with short stories at each character and a few that link together... led me to explore other work by the Author and I wasn't disappointed.

A very insiprational book for children who have just learned to read and write with some fluency. My granddaughter loves it because it encourages her to find her own words within words.

Bought this for our 4 year old niece. It is her FAVOURITE book - she's memorised the entire thing. Have now purchased for a friend's little one as it makes reading and learning really fun.

This is a fabulous book for kids, parents and grandparents. You can make a game out of it, and it helps kids think of other works when you remove a letter.

My children love it! Very imaginative and different.

This is a very fun and interesting alphabet book. My kids had many favorites, but one was "without the L, the Plants wear Pants". I like this book because my kids could connect with it to simply learn their ABCs or laugh at the enchanting pictures, but when they became motivated to understand letter sounds and reading, it gave them a lot to discover and learn from.

This book is awesome! My almost five year old granddaughter requests it every time she comes for a visit and has been 'reading' it for about 6 months. It is great for work with the alphabet as well as rhyming. She knows the entire book by heart and can even 'read' the words on the fly page and tell me what the rhyme is in the story. I would recommend it for anyone who has an almost reader. I purchased two additional copies and one has gone to a friend's grandson and the other went home with my grandaughter so she could read to her uncle. Her request!

Michael Escoffier does and excellent job entertaining with this book. I use it with second graders and start by showing the first three illustrations...then read the clue and see who can get the correct word before showing the illustrations. It is a wonderful way to make reading fun with older children who think they are finished with alphabet books.
