V20i by Anker Open Ear Earbuds, Open Ear Headphones True Wireless

These are small but mighty headphones on a $30 budget. You cannot go wrong here. The sound quality is excellent in the default mode but if you are an audiophile never fear you can fully customize the sound in the free soundcore app. If you aren't that savvy, you can also make easy adjustments in the app by type of music you are listening to or there are settings for podcasts and audiobooks. Or you can just leave it on the soundcore signature setting (which sounds great) and forget about it. These babies are very comfortable. I'm perimenopausal so anything in my ear canals make them itch like crazy. I had to find another option. I have a pair of beats over ear headphones that I wear strictly to bed to listen to for noise canceling/white noise. For obvious reasons these aren't ideal for daily wear (ie at work). I have a pair of soundcore aero clips that I love that I plan to keep locked up in my desk at work (they run about $150). I like these for work as my boss thinks they are some kind of newfangled piercing and has no clue I'm listening to music//baseball//podcasts. On a side note, I love these more than the Bose clips and they were half the price. Which brings me to the V20is. These are perfect for my bag or even a pocket as they come in a slim case. And, worst case, at $30 if they get lost or damaged I'm only out $30. Other things you should know: I wear glasses and these work and are reasonably comfortable. I don't know that I would want to test the outer limits of the battery life without a break but that's just me. Speaking of battery life, it maybe could be better but these are $30 headphones, probably can't have it all. Also, in addition to music I'm running a light show (see below), I'm sure this impacts the battery life. They paired easily with my Google Pixel phone. Now for the cons and then my favorite bonus feature. The cons are pretty much first world problems. One, they only come in 3 colors: black, navy and white. I would like more choices, maybe something in neutral or maybe even pastels. Second, they aren't that discreet unlike my aero clips. If I'm out with my in laws I'd like to be able to tune them out without it being quite so obvious that's what I'm doing 🤣🤣🤣 Now, my favorite option on these isn't even related to how they sound. If you go in the soundcore app there's an option called colorful lights. You can set up your earbuds to put on a light show set to the beat of the music. It's very cool. Granted, I can't see the light show because the headphones are over my ears but I've gotten a lot of comments on how cool it looks. So to wrap this up, you aren't going to find a better all around open pair of headphones than these soundcore V20is at this price point. And of course if you get them and hate them, send them back. The worse thing that could happen is you might have to go to the UPS store to send them back 🤣

These things are fantastic! I normally don’t do reviews but so far this headset gives me a good enough first impression that I felt compelled to tell someone! Initial thoughts:***(4.95/5)*** - I have tried a LOT of headphones over the years, and these are the first set I’ve purchased that ACTUALLY do what’s advertised. Sound Quality(What I hear): ***(4.9/5)*** - Don’t get me wrong, I was skeptical at first, but they’ve got REALLY good sound quality. They have a brighter tone and for me that helps a lot with vocal clarity when listening to friends and family that tend to…let’s face it, “not articulate their words as well as they should or can.” Sound Quality(What they hear): ***5/5*** - I’ve made sure to ask multiple people if they can hear me and they simply say “Yes? why?” Which is a great answer. I then explain that I’m using a new headset and I’ve been told that it sounds the same or “well I couldn’t tell”, Which I find Awesome! I get so tired of hearing “Am I on speaker phone?” I’ve even been told that my headset mic sounds like I’m just using the normal phone and holding it up like normal. Definitely an another win for the headset. Comfort: ***(4.8/5)*** As someone that is getting to the point that their hearing is not what it used to be. I can say that the combination of adjustable angles and open ear design definitely helps me feel comfortable wearing these all day. I barely notice I have them on until I get a notification. I hate putting headphones into my ears and cutting off the world around me so these are extremely nice and comfortable enough to wear all day long. No noticeable discomfort or ear fatigue from all day wear either. I do notice that wearing with glasses takes a moment to adjust whether you put these on first or the glasses(playing a game of who is on top?) and I find that glasses second are slightly more comfortable overall. Overall Volume:***(4.99/5)*** - This is the first headset that I haven’t had to max out the volume right out of the box just to hear everything let alone everything clearly. Most headsets lose clarity the more you increase the volume and these don’t distort even at the Maximum volume level they offer. I still have a little bit of headroom left for those times when it’s very noisy around me but I usually keep the level between 70% and 80% during the day. Kudos to the design team for figuring out that balance of Volume vs. Clarity! Final Thoughts: ***(4.9/5)*** - Now remember, I’ve only own these for a week but so far I love them and I’ll be sure to update if I notice anything else that needs to be said about them. They are a ridiculous good headset for the price point Anker is asking for them. Anker products have always been a go to product for me for audio and accessories but this is only my second pair of headphones I’ve owned from them. Are there better headsets out there as far as all of the fields I rated them on…OF COURSE!!! BUT NOT AT THIS PRICE! These arrived a day early and I am currently wearing them as I write this. So far these aren't bad and I'm having a hard time complaining about what you get for the price. I got these for around $30 and the fact these have touch controls and an app you can use to adjust the EQ, the touch settings, and other things already makes them a good deal. The main reason I bought these is because I needed a pair of open earbuds for work so I can listen to music while still being able to hear what's going on around me. The sound quality isn't terrible but it isn't going to blow you away either. It's kind of like having 2 cheap but decent Bluetooth speakers strapped to your ears. Out of the box they might sound a tad muddy but I like using the hip hop or electronic EQ settings to make them sound more clear with added bass. They don't sound as good as in-ear earbuds (mainly because the bass isn't as rumbly) but they still sound really good, especially for the price. Once you change the EQ settings they have good clarity and you can hear the subtle nuances of each instrument. And although you can't really feel the rumble of the bass you can definitely hear it and most songs sound great on these in my opinion. I did notice that some songs with heavy sub bass sound kind of weird though. The touch controls work pretty well but hitting the right spot can be a little tricky especially when doing double taps. These also stay locked to your ears pretty well. You could headbang to some heavy metal music and these will not be sent into orbit. Some people say these are comfortable and you almost forget you're wearing them but I've had them on for about an hour and I can definitely still feel them. They aren't the most comfortable earbuds I've ever worn but they don't feel that bad either. I wore them at work most of the day and only my left ear started to feel slightly uncomfortable but I think that was just because the earbud needed to be adjusted a bit. The battery life is great and the case has fast charging which is convenient if you want to throw them in the case on your lunch break and get enough juice to last the rest of the day. The case is also smaller than I expected. I thought it would be bigger considering the size of the earbuds but it's literally the length of a toilet paper roll (i'm sick and have a roll laying on my bed next to the case) and it's about as wide as the upper part of your palm and as thick as a mcdonalds cheeseburger lol if you want a solid pair of open ear buds for work but aren't trying to spend a fortune these are a good option to consider. Just keep in mind that you aren't going to get super high quality studio level sound from these but that's not what they're made for anyway.

TL;DR These things are amazing. I have tried over a dozen open ear headphones. And it doesn’t make ANY sense, (mostly because these are SO cheap) but the sound quality on these things blows everything else out of the water. Now, if you want to spend over $100 or more there are certainly better options out there. However, at even up to the $50 or $60 price range (which these are not) the still blow everything else out of the water. And the ONLY one I have found that even comes close is the BlitzMax BT-CT open ear headphones. The product link for those is here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0C7MPXLZ6?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image. How those only have a 4.0 star rating out of 800 reviews is absolutely criminal. Even the Blitz Max is better than nearly every other offering out there that has higher reviews. Regardless, these are even better than the BlitzMax for a few reasons: 1.) They have a dedicated EQ app 2.) The sound is on par or better since they both have 16mm drivers 3.) The design of the case is far superior for the following reasons: 1.) Has more of a matte finish so it doesn’t feel slippery as is the case with the BlitzMax 2.) The footprint of the case is more compact. The BlitzMax case is super flat (due to the design of the earbuds) which makes it slightly more difficult to travel with. Not a deal breaker, just slightly more cumbersome 3.) Mentioning some other features between the two charging cases: on the Anker Soundcore, the spring hinge or whatever they use to keep the case closed is much more secure, which makes it nearly impossible for the case to accidentally crack open whilst inside you pocket or bag. While this is not a big deal for the V20i (Soundcore), since the earbuds do not automatically go into pairing mode or search for a known device to connect to, this is the case with the BlitzMax. I cannot tell you how many times this has happened while these were in my pocket and connected to my phone (without my knowledge) and I attempted to place a phone call, only to realize that I had no sound and couldn’t figure out why until the rep had hung up on me lol. 4.) The earbuds do not randomly connect / disconnect while inside standby mode. Now, I don’t recall this happening with the BlitzMax, however, many other highly rated open-ear earbuds (some of which are rated a 4.9, which they clearly are not) have this issue. It’s an absolute deal breaker for me. 5.) The design of the earbuds themselves are nearly perfect. They fit and stay on your ears far better than basically anything else I have used, except for maybe the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2’s, which are $179.99 MSRP. However, the cost can be prohibitively expensive, while those are also “in-ear” earbuds not “open-ear”. Just worth the mention for stability in the ear. The Powerbeats have the best stability bar none that I have ever seen. Back to the V20i though…the ear hooks are adjustable at 4 different levels, so you can get the perfect fit for your ear size and shape. The sound quality is exceptional for this price point. I seriously do not understand how they are turning a profit on these. A+ One last thing, the charger port is a bit recessed which protects the charger cable a bit, while also making sure if they get knocked around the cable will not get ripped out of your case.

honestly didn’t expect much, but these V20i headphones surprised me\. 😂 The open\-ear design is **so comfortable**, and I love being able to listen to music while still hearing what’s going on around me\. The sound is way better than I expected, the fit stays put, and the battery seems to last forever\. They’re perfect for working out, walking, or just pretending you’re in a music video while doing absolutely nothing\. 😂 **5/5 — would buy again\. My AirPods are currently questioning their job security\.**

I've been using wireless earbuds to listen to true crime podcasts at work for quite a few years. I have sensitive ears, so the type of earbud that you just shove into your ear canal doesn't work for me; they hurt my ears. I was finally able to settle on a neckband, with small molded buds that nestle in the outer part of the ear, pointed into the canal. I used soft silicone ear tips that hooked into the upper part of my ear, and they were pretty comfy. However, the neckband was silicone connected to hard plastic, and after a while of putting them on and taking them off, the silicone breaks away from the hard plastic, and while the sound is fine, the earbuds just fall apart. I had three or four of the same neckands, and I finally just got fed up and started looking for something different. Initially, neckband batteries lasted longer than individual earbuds, but now that's not necessarily the case. The problem for me was finding molded earbuds small enough to not hurt my ears. So I found these and decided to give them a try, and I'm very glad I did. They have a silicone piece that hooks over the ear, and the speaker lies up against the outer ear, with four different positions for adjustment. I need a few things with my work earbuds: 1. Battery life. I start my day at 7:30 am, and around 3:30 pm, I get a sound notifying me that the battery is at 20%. I only wear one at a time because I'm at work, and I don't want to be completely shut off from my coworkers should they need to speak to me. If, for some reason, the one bud dies, I can switch to the other one, which is still in the case and charged. 2. Multipoint connection. I have these connected to my tablet, which is how I listen to podcasts, and my cell phone at the same time, so if I get a phone call, it automatically disconnects from the tablet and switches to my ringing phone. 3. Range. I get up from my desk and move around the office, and I've had some earbuds that wouldn't stay connected at as little as 15 feet away. I experimented once with these, and I would say that at approximately 70 feet away from my tablet, around a corner, they started breaking up a bit. That is, by far, the longest range I've ever come across. I also have a restroom that's maybe 30 or 40 feet away with a thick wall separating it from my devices, and they stay connected. 4. Comfort. Once or twice a day, I need to pull the speaker away from my ear for a few seconds because it gets a tiny bit achy, but comparatively, they are comfortable. Bonus: with other earbuds, if I stay out of range for too long, I often have to reconnect when I get back in range. With these, they will automatically reconnect. There's an app that can be used; you can customize the sound and set functions. For instance, you can set the volume to increase or decrease with one tap or two taps, etc. When the battery is low, you can just put them back in the case and they'll charge up again, even without the case being plugged in. I'm very happy that I found these!

They aren’t bad earbuds. For me they start to hurt my ear quickly so I swap between which ear I wear them. ( meaning I generally only wear one ear at a time.) The primary reason I had bought these was because they could be used on multiple devices at once. I work from home and have to use Microsoft Teams. These aren’t staying connected to the computer in the aspect that I can actually make calls from them. It’ll work for a few phone calls and all of a sudden I can’t hear or say anything to anyone and comes to find out they’re not showing up as a microphone option or sometimes even earphone. But I don’t have this problem with other earbuds. Obviously they work if I accept the call from the app on my cell phone, but sometimes I need it to be on the computer because it’s a screen share and I can’t see the screen that well from my cell phone. I did reach out and they sent me a new pair as I sent them the original back, but this new pair is still doing it. So I don’t really know what’s causing it but it’s obviously not working for what I needed. I still use them, but it’s frustrating.

The review is based on the price point, which was like $25 on sale, and admittedly I had low expectations. Also bear in mind I’m a little bit of a headphone junkie, but each pair has a purpose. Here I was just looking for a cheap replacement for my beater headphones to occasionally wear, and didn’t really expect to like these so much. I know some people will hate the technology, with the complete pass through audio, outside the ear, which intially all sounded like a gimmick to me. It’s not, I’m sold, and this will not be my last outside the ear headphones. The best way to describe it, it’s like you’re listening to the tv with your friends around, not like it’s yelling in your ear like normal earbuds. They have surprisingly good bass, not anything that’s going to challenge your over the ear monitor headphones, but good for earbuds. For wearing around the house doing chores, or occasionally in the bedroom at night, either with an audiobook, or something ambient, these have exceeded expectations. The best part about them is you forget you even have them on. I’ve never experienced that with any headphones in all my 40+ years. I can wear them literally all day, comfortably, with no ear fatigue. They are literally the most comfortable headphones I’ve owned, but bear in mind I haven’t used them in the heat. They also sound good with music, with enough range to pick up those smaller details you’re looking for. All in all, can’t recommend these enough, and probably would pay double the asking price.

I’ve used in ear headphones for a while, but have found that they hurt my ears over time and sometimes drop out. These have been superb. You can wear them for long periods of time and you wouldn’t know they’re on. They pair with my iPhone well and after a week and a lot of use, they haven’t needed charging yet. Such amazing value, I have 2 other Soundcore pieces of kit and the quality is always there. The microphone is clear on calls, the battery life is very good, they fit really well and adjust. I have worn these on walks in a calm day and the sound is clear. I can’t recommend these highly enough. For the money they are more than worth it.

I was encouraged to buy a particular brand of bone-induction headphones by a colleague after mentioning my problems with in-ear ones. Sounded like a great idea, I thought, until I saw the prices and realised that it was a bit much to be committing to without knowing if I'd enjoy the way they worked. I thought these seemed like a really good compromise; a way to test the waters, see what I thought. I can always buy a more expensive pair later, I figured. Several months in, and I've yet to find any reason to want to upgrade. As an in-office and WFH headset they are excellent - sound quality is fantastic (crisp and clear), and according to colleagues the microphone is great too, with no distortion or fuzziness. They synched immediately and easily to both my laptop and iPhone... which is great because I love Technology, but Technology doesn't love me back. I don't use the Soundcore earpieces for TV or dedicated music listening... but having said, I don't think anyone would be disappointed by them in that scenerio, unless (like me) your normal alternative for those activities is something like Bose over-ear noise-cancelling. Obviously it's an unfair comparison and I absolutely won't take a star off for it. If dedicated noise cancelling isn't a mandatory requirement, I reckon most people would be perfectly happy with the performance. If you're looking for a set of general-purpose headphones that will absolutely do a great job, give good clear sound without rupturing your eardrum, and work great for videoconferencing, then these'd absolutely be my pick. Maybe something would be better with the more expensive brand-name ones, but honestly I can't find a defecit that needs correcting on these. Even the thingy that goes over your ear, which I expected to be annoying, adjusts well and sits comfortably. I've forgotten I'm wearing them more than once, and that never happened with the in-ear sort: I always had them out within seconds of finishing a meeting. Bang-for-buck wise, I can't fault them. I've been using them for months now, and they're going strong, recharging well, etc. One day when they eventually die on me, maybe I'll try that expensive brand...but honestly, I don't think so. These tick every box I need, and are comfy besides.

Son cómodos para hacer ejercicio y no se caen fácilmente con el movimiento. Incluso he llegado a olvidar que los traigo puestos. Es posible escuchar el exterior mientras escuchas música, resultan útiles para no aislarse del todo y te permiten estar alerta. A pesar de eso tienen buen sonido y volumen.

Excelente producto desde que llegaron no los he dejado de usar tienen excelente salida de sonido antes batallaba porque no me entendían con los auriculares pero este producto eliminó ese problema, son muy cómodos se me olvida que los traigo puestos, los recomiendo mucho

Comode e pratiche. È la prima volta che uso queste cuffie open eir e devo dire che sono meglio di quello che mi aspettavo. Si accoppiano facilmente ,leggere e per le dimensioni suonano più che bene ,nonostante non chiudano completamente le orecchie. Suono pulito,bassi ovviamente fanno quel che possono,buona durata della batteria,forse unico neo è che spesso basta toccarle e si premono i comandi touch. A mio avviso ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.
