Good quality solid construction pool net
I requested and received this pool net for free last week so I would test it and give my honest opinion. I tried it out over the past four days and here are my first impressions. Works fine both getting leaves, bugs and assorted other junk from both floating on top of and on the bottom of the pool. It appears to be the same quality as my last pool net and that one is still being used after 5 years (but that one is getting a little ratty). Checking the big box stores online, similar quality were about the same price or a little more expensive (and that is not counting any available Amazon coupon). Even if the price was a tiny bit less at the store, they only had one more expensive style in stock and the rest I would have to order from them. After that, I would have to drive there in 98 degree heat (in store delivery was expected in about10 days) or it could be delivered "by the store" to my house in about a week. No brainer, same or better quality, way better price with current Amazon coupon, a heck more convenient, and I have never had any problem with any possible Amazon return if I threw out my receipt by accident. The second photograph shows my old pool net under this new net. Please note; the little rod you use to attach the new net to the pole is a separate piece and it has an extra push in button to make it easier to put on and remove the net, nice touch. To be absolutely honest, I hope to almost never use this net as we just purchased a solar pool skimmer top the top and a battery operated pool floor vacuum from Amazon two weeks ago and both are doing a superb job....

This is just the net, but it works great for us!
I don't know why I thought this would come with a pole, but it is just the net. That said, we use it on our tiny 15' above ground pool and I love what a wide swath this net has. It has a big opening to you don't have to be so accurate with your swiping (we were using a fish net before... don't laugh...). We love it, next we'll get the pole! I would say it is worth $15.00, but it would be MORE worth it if they had the pole.

Great scoop angle light weight.
It works really well when pushed at the floor debris and the scoop front throws the items right up and back into the net. The mesh is not the superfine but it is fine enough for most debris and leaves. (Not iguana poop though). The mesh it embedded and affixed to the frame, so it you tear the net or crack the frame you can not replace just that part. You replace the entire product. But that said the frame is very thick and feels very sturdy for regular use. I would not drop the tall pole to the concrete with the net on the end as you will break it. If this does end up getting accidentally broken, I would certainly replace it with the same item as it does work scooping really well.

Excellent leaf skimmer
We use this in New England where the leaves are constantly falling into the pool particularly later in the season. Standard flat pool skimming nets just won't do the job, you need one of these skimmers with a bag to catch and capture a lot of debris. Just flip it over and shake to empty the bag contents out. This skimmer is rugged enough for regular residential use and a lot sturdier than the cheap stuff. It fits a standard pool pole and is easily interchanged with your other tools. It features a front edge scoop that does help when collecting sunken debris on the bottom of the pool.

Useful, but net material is stiff.
Nice enough pool net. Initial feel is flimsy. Net is smaller opening than any other I have used. The biggest detractor for me is the net material. When the net is inverted to empty, the mesh does not fall back through the net, it stays in raised up which makes emptying it difficult. I have to use my hand to push the net so it will empty. I'm not sure if the mesh will soften with use, so I will update this in a couple weeks. This net works, but right now I wouldn't recommend it.

Feeling like a pro (without the pay)
This is a pretty heavy-duty pool net which is both heavier and sturdier than the local mega-discount store version we replaced it with. The front edge is wide and thin to enable better scooping from the pool's bottom, where we find it collects almost everything except bits of sand or small rocks (which we relay on vacuum to clean up). It fit perfectly and swiftly on our existing extendable pole and comes off just as easily when we need to swap it for another cleaning device.Initially the net was very stiff, but once used in the water, it quickly softened to enable capture of the detritus and bugs from both the top and bottom of the pool. Overall, I think this is a really well-designed skimmer net and am happy with its results. I like that the net is self-repairing, as our old one had once been caught on a century plant, and had a few too many rips for it to be fully effective.
