Worked every year until I had spring HVAC maintenance yesterday and the technician said that it was dead. He showed me the test, and it wasn't removing water. He quoted me $450 to replace it. I told him that I knew the pumps only cost around $50-$60 on Amazon, but he pointed out that my pump is electrically wired to the furnace for power. So, it involves electrical work. I held off on having him do the work. I thought about it and researched the new units online and realized the pump can operate with a wall charger. So, I purchased it on Amazon this morning; it arrived around 6:00 p.m. I installed it, putting the old PVC tube and hose in the old unit into the new unit, plugged it in, tested it, and it works perfectly! It took 5 minutes! I simply pushed the old unit that's wired to the unit aside. I'll have it removed at some point in the future when I'm getting other work done, but it's not in the way and not a factor. So, I went from a $450 estimate to a $64 pump to resolve the problem!
