So far I have only used it on one outing but it already paid for itself as I was with another beginner who did not have a retriever. The pole is sturdy and I had no trouble with the telescoping feature. I used the pole every time to get a disc out of the water. I have not tried using it when a disc gets caught in a tree but I can imagine it working. This retriever set is a little more money than some of the competitors but I am unable to compare. I am able to attest to the sturdiness of the pole.

Saved several discs the first time I had it. Pole does get wobbly as you extend it and the attachments will unscrew easily.

I bought this "DF 4 in 1 Extendable 16 ft Disc Golf Retriever to have in my bag. I purchased a retriever a few years ago that has only one permanently mounted tool, which expands to 10 ft. Once I saw the benefit of using that tool, this 4-in-1 set would be the one to have. I like it because it is compact and isn’t heavy, so the weight it adds to my bag is hardly detectable. Losing a disc to a tree or a pond is about the same as the noticeable weight of this tool. I am 70 years old, so yes, weight does matter to me. The quality of workmanship is excellent. The pole flexes at length, but they show that in the images when you buy it. That really does affect the tool in a good way. I take advantage of the flexibility, especially in water, where the curvature helps retrieve discs that are lost. I like the tool, and I have no reason to think it will not last a long time.

Bought this to pull down bird nesting debris at peak of my house. It worked great. A little flimsy when fully extended but did a great job for my purposes. I’m too old to climb a ladder to reach.

Works great even fully extended it’s strong enough to pull a disc from the water. The multiple tips are great for different situations to grab a disc and are easy to switch out. Fits great in my bag.

Many a disc have been retrieved with this. In water, in thorn bushes, in trees, you name it. The various attachments and the length of the pole make retrieving discs easy. The metal is also really durable! I haven't been concerned about yanking and pulling hard on the pole even when fully extended.

I got this and immediately got a disc stuck in the tree. Worked a treat to get my disc back. So much so I happily did it again two holes later!
