If deer ruin your flowers - buy these!!
Usually take my time reviewing these purchases, and most times I donโt.๐ However this product is a game changer if your hastaโs, roses, flowers are getting trimmed to the ground by deer. I purchased my first unit two years ago, and the second last year. Both have held up just fine and have yet to fail. Couple things to note. 1. I had to combine these with a separate water timer as they are used in the front yard where I have my roses, and I donโt want to be spraying guests or my overworked postal / Amazon package delivery guy. I turn them on at 8:00pm and off at 6:00am. 2. The last two years my Hastaโs actually flowered๐ 3. Usually the deer are so spooked by just the activation of the sprinkler, they just now avoid my house all together. 4. They are so sensitive they will pick up people walking on the street, and if you have tall plants/flowers in front of them, they will activate on super windy days. Not common but it happens. 5. Hard water stains on the solar panels seems to not have an effect on operation. These have worked out so well for us, even if one of these failed, Iโd buy another. Ditch the deer sprays and the stink they emit and buy a couple of these. Itโs worth the money.

Finally, a Humane and Effective Way to Protect My Yard!
I was honestly skeptical at first, but this motion-activated sprinkler has exceeded my expectations. Weโve been dealing with deer eating our plants, neighborhood cats using the garden as a litter box, and even the occasional raccoon digging around at night. Within just a few days of setting this up, the difference was incredible. The motion sensor is surprisingly accurate and picks up movement quickly without constantly going off for no reason. The burst of water is strong enough to startle animals but completely humaneโit doesnโt harm them, just teaches them to stay away. I love that it works day and night, so my yard is protected 24/7. Installation was simple and straightforward. It connected easily to my hose, and adjusting the spray range and sensitivity was quick. It also doubles as a regular sprinkler, which is a nice bonus for keeping the lawn healthy.

Just does not cut it as a wildlife deterrent!
I have numerous mature peach and plum trees in my backyard. The trees are caged but deer, some bird damage and squirrels are the usual suspects in my area. I thought this product would work so I tried it on a peach tree that matures later in the season, as the others were already picked. I use many long poles as fruit tree supports to prevent damage from deer and breakage of scaffold branches on the trees. I have the device set on high sensitivity. Even if I approached the farthest side of the detector the sprinkler would see me and I had to duck! Two days ago I was looking at the tree and to my chagrin I saw a squirrel actually run up one of the tree support poles, rummaged around and took off with a peach. Did the device see the animal? No. Did it catch it running up the pole? No. After this squirrel disappeared, another showed up and jumped in the tree. I chased it and I got wet but the device didn't pay attention to the squirrel!! Totally laughable situation but this product is basically worthless. Summing up, this may work for deer but if squirrels are a problem avoid this product like the plague.

Better than Orbit lawn enforcer!
Donโt usually write reviews, but raccoons have been tearing up my lawn every night. I have four Orbit Lawn Enforcers, but the raccoons were still able to navigate around them. I purchased this one in addition to the four I already have to completely protect my yard. Since getting this, the raccoons havenโt touched my yard โ they get sprayed every time they come close. It really works! Depending on how big your yard is, you might need multiple units to fully cover the area. I currently have five and just bought two more. Between this and the Orbit Lawn Enforcer, I prefer this one โ the Trurid Deer and Cat Repellent. Here are the pros and cons between the two: 1. Sensitivity and Range: This one is much more sensitive and has better range than the Orbit, even though Orbit advertises up to 40 ft vs. 30 ft for this one. In reality, the Truridโs range feels like more than 120 degree. There were a few times the Orbit sprinkler didnโt activate even when the raccoon was right in front of it (a limitation of the PIR sensor). It works best when the animal walks across the sensor rather than directly toward it. The Trurid, on the other hand, is more sensitive even when the animal walks straight at it. 2. Night Mode: The Orbit has a night mode, while this one only has an โonโ mode. I have to turn it off every morning so it doesnโt spray my kids or the neighborsโ cats. 3. Build Quality: The Orbitโs materials are sturdier; the Trurid is mostly plastic. Weโll see how well it holds up after a few months. 4. Power Source: The Trurid is solar-powered, while the Orbit uses batteries. 5. Sprinkler Head: Both have similar sprinkler heads. 6. The Orbit has much clearer instructions. The assembly instructions for this product donโt quite match the actual parts โ something other users have also mentioned. You need to screw on the sprinkler head adapter before attaching the sprinkler head. It took me two minutes to figure that out! Overall: The Trurid Deer Repellent wins for its superior range and sensitivity!

Spend more on something more accurate with motion
Just put it up and by night time its already doing its thing, one-of the female cats were in heat for a while and i didnt know what to do with all the spraying and buying enzyme cleaner finally decided to invest in this and yes i doubt they will spray directly on my door and bamboo with this . Update: ive had the sprinkler for abt 2 weeks it is now sprinkling water when nothing is infront of it. Repeatedly over 2 minute time span. I work 12 hr shifts so i now my neighbors are annoyed. I do not recommend. It even dies it at 2 am when im tired and i check my camera there was no cat in my yard. If i have the sensor on 5 it never stops sprinkling as well. I have to keep it at 3 or below which is not getting the motion of the cats that are close to my bamboo that they spray on. Yes it sprinkles but its doing it for no reason which is a waste of water and money . Just invest in an expensive one because buying more of this will result in random sprinkling. In my screenshot you can see the time stamp every time it went off while no one or a cat was there . The motion detected is the water! So im checking my camera thinking someone is in my yard nope just water being wasted on air

Functional with caveats
Works great for my garden in the front but with a couple of caveats. The lowest sensitivity is still too much for a small yard. My neighbor walking on her drive way would trigger the sprinkler and the range of spray is almost to her drive way. I have to switch the water off in the morning and turn back on at night so that neighbors and delivery guys won't get a heart attack from it. Also I noticed the sprinkling motion would loose the jose connection so I have to tighten it from time to time to prevent leaking. Otherwise, the deers have been leaving my lilys alone since Ive had it.

Love this
This has worked wonderful for me to keep the raccoons out of my flower beds and bird feeders. Very easy to snap together. And then just hook up the hose and set the intensity for the trigger and you're good to go

Buy this if you have a raccoon problem!
I rarely write reviews, but this is a game changer! I've tried everything to stop raccoons from pooping in my pool. The only really effective thing has been to live trap and relocate them, which works until the next bunch moves in. The ultrasound, light sensor, pepper scent, etc... deterrents have all been useless. This thing sets out a loud, short burst of water right at my pool steps and stops raccoons in their tracks!! I aimed the unit slightly downward so the motion sensor will activate for smaller critters. I also added a Y diverter at my garden hose and a small hose (3') section to the unit, so I can easily turn it off in the morning. Works great!!
