A really superb app. Two dogs to track. Very easy setup. Total peace of mind. Not cheap. But worth it.

Purchased as it was on offer and seemed good value for peace of mind with the gps tracking, in preparation for him being looked after while we were on holiday. Arrived earlier than expected a few days before going away and nearly fully charged. Paid for premium subscription, £5 a month. Had an anxious phone call on day two that the dog had escaped from the garden chasing after a cat and had disappeared. We were able to track him live while we drove 1.5 hours back to where he was staying. He’d travelled 9 miles but was exactly where the tracker said he was and we were able to get to him straight away. Was surprised how good the battery and signal was as we were able to live track for the majority of the time he was out which was around 3 hours in total and lost less than 10% battery. Without the tracker we wouldn’t have found him and would have had to have relied on sightings. Fantastic purchase, well worth the money. Hoping the dog never escapes again.

Got this tracker because my labrador thinks escaping the garden is a fun game. Set up was pretty easy, just downloaded the app, paired the device, and strapped it to her collar. The live tracking feature works well, you can see exactly where she is on the map which saved me a few panicked trips around the neighbourhood already. Battery life is decent, lasts a few days between charges depending on how often you check the location. The collar attachment feels secure, haven't had it fall off during zoomies or rolling in mud. It's also waterproof which is essential for a dog that finds every puddle possible. Biggest catch is the subscription. You can't really use it without paying monthly, and that adds up over a year. Feels a bit steep for what it is. The device itself isn't cheap either. Also, it's a bit bulky for smaller dogs, looks fine on my lab but would probably overwhelm a chihuahua. Works as intended though. Nice having that reassurance when she bolts.

I bought my tractive dog tracker over a year ago following three hours of panic after I lost my Jack Russel Terrier in a forest in the Lake District. Fortunately, through kind people and Facebook, we were re-united later that evening but I realised I needed a reliable solution. My dog needs to run free and I like giving her that freedom. I chose Tractive after looking through reviews and Youtube videos and I do not have any regrets. The App on my phone, the device itself, battery life, reliability and general design are incredibly good. The App, in standard mode tracks just the mobile phone on which it is installed, but when your dog sets off into the undergrowth, switching to Live mode connects to the tracker and within 10 seconds, tracks both the mobile phone and the tracker so you can tell if you are walking in the correct direction to relocate your dog. For winter months and dark nights, I use the light on the tracker which has dual purpose - it helps you see where your dog is - and warns off wildlife such as badgers which could otherwise be dangerous to small dogs. I have used the tracker regularly in large forests and dark locations and would not feel comfortable letting my dog go loose without it in these types of places. My dog has a half decent recall - unless there is something worth chasing nearby. The charge on the device will work for quite a few hours in standard mode, even with the light on, and I switch between standard and live as required (as my dog comes and goes). I haven't used live exclusively from 100% battery to see how long it would last because I don't want to run the battery down needlessly but I think it may be up to twice as fast on battery usage. Either way, unless you are on a walk that will last for maybe 6 hours or more, a full charge is plenty with standard mode and light on, and fleeting usage in live mode is easily enough. I cannot recommend this product enough. It is waterproof, robust, reliable, fast charging, the light funtion is great and it even has a sound for easy location in dense undergrowth (Although I haven't really used this feature). If there is one (very minor) improvement that could be made it would be the size. As my dog is very small, I could not fit this on her collar as it would be too large but I purchased a harness and fitted the tracker there. It has been there ever since and I charge the tracker while attached to the harness between walks. It is not a problem to me - but was my first thought after I bought it. If you have a small dog, you will need a harness or other dog wear on which to fit it for comfort. For large dogs, I do not think this need even be considered as it would attach to a large collar very easily. If you are considering a tracker, my suggestion is to try Tractive first. You will not be dissapointed.

I’ve had nothing but problems with this. I created a safe zone around the house but the zone is 100ft or more so it includes the surrounding roads which I don’t like. The live takes ages to work and shows ‘connecting to network’ which is not ideal when your dog is running fast somewhere and you need to find out fast. When I’ve checked in on him with the dog walker it cant locate him and just says he’s at home when he clearly isn’t so that’s useless. All in all I feel like I paid a lot of money for something that doesn’t do the job at all. The GPS is ok when it works, not amazing but good enough - the problem is it getting it to work and it clearly Isnt in real time. I don’t keep it on him 24/7 as it’s a bit bulky for a miniature poodle, it’s attached to his harness so only used for walks. Therefore the life tracking aspect of this is not used and I can’t comment on it. Ultimately I wanted something that I could quickly locate him if he ran off and something I can check his location on when he’s with other people. It does neither of those things effectively so it’s a no from me. I’m now locked into a year subscription with them but I won’t be renewing. I’ve spoke to customer services around 5 times and each time they ask me to test the device again. I have, many times, it still clearly doesn’t work properly.

We bought Tractive (£40 ish for Hardware and £6 per month Basic Subscription) to keep track of our Female Puppy/Dog who will be having her first Season over next few months, and also as we are taking off lead for Recall Training. Very happy with the results so far. The Unit goes into Battery Saving mode (updates every 5 mins) when at home but it lasts pretty good...about 10% per day. During Walk, press the button on App and it logs the route in real time....just got to remember to END the Walk otherwise it affects the Stats I guess. The safe zone minimum is a little larger than we anticipated so technically the Dog could escape and we wouldn't know for over 5 mins if it stayed with the large safe Zone around the House Area ie roads. A slight downside, but really the Unit was purchased for walk tracking and off lead operations so not really too worried. The Wellness Tracking is at early stages but looks interesting. Not sure about Sleep tracking when Collar is removed on a night. The Units Base Plate fits onto collar okay with a lot of stretching of rubber... a back up plate would've been good in case the rubber snaps. The Unit then clips onto the Plate with four stretchy rubber clips. Charging up on collar so not needed to remove once in place. Very happy so far.

Super piece of kit. Gives piece of mind when walking our bonkers spaniel. Health monitoring is a nice touch.

Having this tracker on my dog does give me some piece of mind. It is very easy to set up. However, it is very dependent on the signal quality in the area you are walking and I am finding that the places where I really need to see where my dog is, there is no signal rendering the device useless. It also takes some time to pick up a GPS signal even if I have a good 5G phone signal. If I am in an area with a good phone network signal and attached to the GPS then the tracker works well and is very reassuring when switching to live tracking to see my dog heading towards me in the app, even though I can't yet see him in real life. The route it plots isn't entirely accurate. I didn't realise that the £4 something a month subscription was a contract that I was locked into for the amount of time I chose, in my case a year! Had I know all this I may have just gone for a tracker that does not rely on a phone signal.

The Tractive Smart GPS Tracker is designed for pets, and it shows in every feature. I 100% recommend it for anyone with a dog who loves to explore—or one that’s just a little too fast when they see a squirrel.

Llevo bastante tiempo utilizando Tractive y puedo decir que ha superado mis expectativas. La localización es rápida y precisa, la aplicación es muy intuitiva y ofrece una gran cantidad de información sobre la actividad y el bienestar de mi perro, lo que aporta mucha tranquilidad cuando no está conmigo. Pero si hay algo que realmente marca la diferencia es su atención al cliente. Siempre que he necesitado ayuda o he tenido alguna consulta, la respuesta ha sido rápida, profesional y muy amable. Se nota que detrás hay un equipo que se preocupa por sus usuarios y por sus mascotas. Der Tracker ist einfach super. Aber es gab ein großes Abenteuer der Fehlerbehebung, weil die GPS Aufzeichnung der Gassirunde nicht immer funktionierte. Zu diesem Thema kann ich nur sagen, dass der Support von Tractive sehr außergewöhnlich war. Schnell, freundlich, kompetent und verständlich. Ich habe sogar einen neuen Tracker im Austausch bekommen. Letztendlich war die Fehlerursache eine simple und unbekannte Einstellung am Handy (Samsung Galaxy S25) die in den Fehlerbehebungen nie vorkam. Das wurde mit Tractive kommuniziert und ist für spätere Fehleranalysen bestimmt hilfreich. Jetzt funktioniert jedenfalls alles prima und ich bin mehr als zufrieden. Allgemeine Info: - Akkulaufzeit: Wie angegeben kommt es mit den ca. 14 Tagen gut hin. Jeden Tag so ca. 2 Stunden Gassirunden und Einrichtung einer Energiesparzone (WLan) in der App. Der Tracker ladet recht schnell wieder auf und danach kommt eine Info über die App, das der Akku geladen ist. - Virtuelle Zäune: Dazu kann ich nichts berichten, da ich keinen Garten besitze und diese Funktion nicht testen konnte Da die Energiesparzone gut angezeigt wird, denke ich mir, das der virtuelle Zaun auch funktioniert. - Live Tracking: Deswegen habe ich den Tracker gekauft (mit 2 Jahresabo). Funktioniert einwandfrei. Vor allem super für Familienmitglieder. Sie sehen live, wo man mit dem Hund unterwegs ist. Perfekt. Somit sieht man auch, das der Tracker das macht, für das er gedacht ist. - Gassirunde: Die Aufzeichnung der Gassirunde ist perfekt. Vergleiche die Aufzeichnung mit meiner Smartwatch und sie sind identisch. Somit hat man eine nette Übersicht von der zurückgelegten Strecke und der Gassidauer. - Das man Nachts über das Handy das Licht am Tracker anmachen kann, finde ich auch nicht schlecht. Auch ein Signalton ist über das Handy steuerbar. - Die Gesundheitsfunktionen wie Bellverhalten, Trennungsangstbeobachtung, Schlaf, Herzfrequenz, Atemfrequenz, Kratzverhalten....... sind für mich Spielereien, die ich nicht nutze. Mein Hund hat den Tracker am Hundegeschirr und somit nur bei der Gassirunde aktiv. Denke, das jeder seinen Hund gut beobachtet und für die Gesundheitsfunktionen keinen Tracker braucht. Aber das muss ja jeder für sich entscheiden. Somit kann ich nur noch wiederholt sagen, das der Tracker sehr gut funktioniert und der Kundenservice vorbildlich ist.

J'ai reçu le traceur Tractive très rapidement, et je suis impressionné par le packaging, qui est à la fois soigné et esthétique. Le design du traceur est également très réussi ; je le trouve beaucoup plus moderne et discret que d'autres modèles sur le marché. Pour l'instant, je suis vraiment content de ce produit. La batterie tient longtemps (plus d'une semaine sans recharge) et le traceur ne gêne absolument pas mon chien, car il est léger mais robuste. Un autre gros avantage : la lumière intégrée, qui est super pratique lors des balades nocturnes, elle est bien visible. Même si j'ai acheté ce traceur surtout pour la fonction GPS, je passe en réalité beaucoup de temps à explorer les fonctionnalités de santé, notamment le suivi des habitudes de sommeil de mon chien, ce qui m’aide parfois à mieux comprendre son comportement. C'est aussi la première fois que j'ai un traceur avec suivi des aboiements, et je dois dire que je suis vraiment impressionné par cette fonctionnalité. C'est une vraie valeur ajoutée, surtout pour être alerté si Coco aboie plus que d'habitude. Bref, je suis vraiment satisfait de mon achat, et je le recommande à tous ceux qui cherchent un traceur fiable !

I have to give this product 5 stars. It came very nicely packaged, and was frankly very easy to set up. The interface on the Smart Phone app is nice. So long as you have a decent 4G/5G connection, the tracking of your dog is very good. The tracker is not very bulky and quite discreet. It seems water proof as my dog has gotten into ponds with it and the tracker continues to work fine. The sound it can make is a bit "wimpy", not very loud. Not 100% sure what is is for. The light is quite bright, but I think that if it flashed, instead of being steady, it would probably use less battery and be more distinctive and visible. The dog lost the tracker twice in the forest. The first time I was able to refind it with the help of the Radar mode, though it was 10 to 15 meters from the point indicated by the GPS (?). The second time I was not able to refind it as it came off somewhere in an area without 4G/5G coverage. I had purchased TRACTIVE CARE, and they have replaced the tracker very quickly and efficiently, no questions asked. It was very easy to switch to the brand new tracker they sent me. The battery lifetime seems pretty good. I just charge it every three or four days and do not let it go below 50% in case the dog one day gets really lost for many hours or days. A couple of possible improvements: When in LIVE mode, it would be useful to have a count down counter to know how much time is left in LIVE mode, so that you can renew it before it expires and goes out of LIVE mode. The other is that it seems that when it loses 4G/5G connection (eg in a low valley are) it goes out of LIVE mode (?). This is a shame as you have to keep checking if you are back in an area of coverage to restart LIVE mode. In my view it should not stop LIVE mode just because it leaves an area of 4G/5G coverage for a short time. All in all, 5 stars. It does what it is supposed to very nicely. Seems like a quality product.
