It is very strong and durable. I was worried that the stretch of the leash would be like a bungie cord, but it only stretches to be the length of a normal leash and no further. The close-in handle is great for when my service dog and I are dealing with large crowds of people and I want her much closer to my side. The materials and construction of this leash are pretty high-quality, and should last a long time. My only concern (due to past experience, and not necessarily due to this leash itself) is that the "trigger clasp" on the end will wear out or break like I've had happen on other leashes...guess we'll see down the road. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ GET ONE!!
