The hole used for the can-less light was bigger that what would be used for a regular can light so the can light did not cover the drywall. I did not feel like going through the process of redoing the drywall, especially in a ceil with blown insulation. Got these medallions to fix the problem. I had to increase the size of the medallion's inner hole which was not problem. The fixed my issue and actually made the lights look fancier. Medallion's were study and looked great for a plain medallion.
