Great machine!
I bought my combo 10 max in January (10 months ago) and love it! This was an expensive purchase for sure. But we did save a little by getting it on Amazon instead of a box store. The mapping is the best I have ever experienced (this is my 4th Roomba upgrade). The vacuum is more than sufficient, and the mopping beats all previous models, including the early stand alone Roomba mop. This is a very high quality combo cleaning tool. Mine operates almost daily in one room or another. For the first month or two I had it set to clean everything every day. I backed it down to a couple rooms every other day. More for the machines ability to finish the job and go to bed rather than run all day between recharging. This is not designed to be an industrial machine. It is designed to do light cleaning and mopping. It is for day to day task in average conditions. Itโs not going to deep-clean your 12 year old matted down carpeting. It will clean the dirt and even mud a kid or dog may drag in, but itโs gonna struggle if you have 3 pets and 6 kids, or if you never clean up after yourself. I read all the reviews and really do understand that some people have bad experiences. Likewise, I read into them a bit and suspect that some reviews probably generated from either abuse or an inability to follow instructions. Bad reviews become an easy out for people to cover for their inability to accept the reality that they just did it wrong, or broke it. It is also contagious, when they see a bad review they echo it to assure themselves that they must be right. Overall, the technology in this machine is top of the line, but it is made by humans, so it is always going to have processes that could be better. I personally wish the battery would last a little longer, but when it gets low, the machine recharges itself and goes back to work. I have never had to deal with customer service for a bad machine or problem, so I cannot say if customer service is good or bad.

I really wanted to like it
I'm returning the Combo 10. I'm returning it on day 29 because I really wanted to like it. In practice, it's been a miserable experience beginning with the setup and continuing up to the point of me writing this review. - While my first roomba easily connected to wifi, this one took me an hour to get connected and up to date - The initial mapping takes quite a bit of time - that's fine. The bigger issue is that when it made a mistake in the initial mapping, my only option was to tell it to start over, requiring another 2+ hours of the machine wandering around - All this would be fine if the machine cleaned well, but it just doesn't. The machine failed between 1 in 3 and 1 in 4 runs (and frequently multiple times within a run). I consistently got erroneous cleanbase clogged error - it wasn't. What I was able to determine was that the vacuum bag gets when when doing both mopping and vacuuming. The wet bag means there's increased air resistance which the machine interprets as a clog - The lack of lidar meant that the robot required me to have all the lights on so it could correctly navigate. It also seemed to not really understand where there was mud tracked in - The robot itself required a lot of cleaning on its own. I have two cats and a dog that doesn't shed. My wife and daughter both have long hair which was consistently a challenge for the machine - The mopping never worked well and the base leaked, though in fairness, that may have been that I kept being told by the app to turn it over to try to clear the clog. Incidentally, the app kept giving me the wrong support article, corresponding to the J9 not the 10 combo - On a whim, I decided to start experimenting with running the vacuum and mopping concurrently - that seemed to avoid the erroneous clog error, but it take a lot of extra time, particularly with the charge time that's required. Much to my frustration, the robot started to complain that it wasn't on a level surface and required it to be moved. It's a perfectly level tile floor. It just doesn't work well - The mop pad never gets dry (or clean for that matter) - as a result it started to get musty over time - The final straw for me was the fact that despite multiple outreaches, I never got any response from customer service other than the automated Zendesk ticket email. That's not acceptable for any company, and certainly not for a $1399 device In the end I did really want to like the device - my family was skeptical, given our previous experience (the old i-series ran over a cat accident and smeared it across our kitchen). The P.O.O.P. promise gave me some comfort, but given my experience over the last almost month, that seems naive. iRobot has clearly fallen behind the other manufactures - the Combo 10 feels like a rushed, half-baked product. It is clearly not in the same class as manufacturers like Dreame or Roborock (both of which have advanced lidar systems). Avoid and pick a different manufacturer.

Unparalleled Customer Service
I had a heart attack in November 2025. I stayed with my sister several months awaiting an appointment to have a stent surgically inserted into my artery. During my sojourn, I noticed that twice a week my sister was vacuuming and mopping her entire house with outdated equipment. I offered to give her my extra iRobot vacuum, but when I described the vacuuming, mopping, and multifunctional base capabilities of my Roomba Combo 10 Max, she hastily ordered her own Combo 10 Max on Amazon. When I learned that my sister had paid $729.90 plus a $29.99 delivery fee, I searched Amazon myself. There was a sale offer for $399.99 with free delivery from a different vendor. I called Amazon. The first-rate Amazon agent, Sandeep, sent AZ DEAL CLUB a message. The AZ DEAL CLUB agent, Corey G., asked me to explain my concern. Within days, this incredible representative for AZ DEAL CLUB, Corey G., approved a refund of the difference plus the $29.99 delivery fee. I did not expect a refund of the delivery fee! I cannot thank AZ DEAL CLUB enough. I am 76, and my sister is 74. Packaging and returning the iRobot Roomba Combo 10 MAX would have been a nightmare for us. At the least, I certainly expected a fight for the return of her money. I admire a seller like AZ DEAL CLUB which values CUSTOMER SERVICE as their top priority over all else. I cannot thank AZ DEAL CLUB and Corey enough for their magnanimous refund decision and rapid response to my dilemma. I regard AZ DEAL CLUB with the highest esteem for their commitment to unparalleled customer service. Churchgirl

Works well, for a very short time. Then it's an expensive door stop
This could be a transformative product. It vacuums and mops - not as well as manual vacuuming and mopping, but really quite well, and it does while you're at work. With two dogs and a large ground floor, it was a god-send. For six months. Then it started having issues. We stepped up our maintenance of the robot, reduced the demands on it, but it began to fail to finish jobs frequently. It would text that it was out of battery 6 feet from the charging station after having completed a third of the job. So we bought new brushes and new pads and further reduced the amount of the house we were asking it to clean. It did not help. Over time, the robot was able to cover less and less, and in the last three months, it only finishes about 1 job in four tries, and almost never finishes the big job of the whole ground floor. Then it developed issues with the dirty water tank. I spent two hours on chat (getting cut off once) and IRobot finally determined it was a faulty tank (8 months of ownership). They sent a new tank. I replaced it, and the robot worked. Twice. Now it tells me it has a bin error. I spent another hour on chat to determine that it is probably a faulty bin, which they don't have in stock, but they will replace when they can. But they can't troubleshoot the battery issue until the (not in stock) bin is replaced, so I am looking at another month or more of no robot. And that's IF they can figure out why the robot can't make it back to base before its battery runs out once I have the bin. I predict that they will not, so there will be another wait. Meanwhile, I have a $700 doorstop and dirty floors. The history on the unit available to me through the app tells me that the robot finishes 1 job in every 4 that it starts over the last three moths. I am now entering my 10th month of ownership, and I think it's only worked well for six of them. Hours of time troubleshooting on my own or waiting on support. An absolute waste of money. Hopefully someone will make a product that actually does what this one promises to do, but don't waste your money on this one.

Outdated model that lacks support
Evidence from use and documentation shows this to be an outdated and poorly supported model. Cleaning solvents that can be used in other Roomba models are not recommended for use in this model. Support calls returned only FAQ based suggestions. Bugs in App affecting this model show App is no longer actively supporting this model (Combo 10 Max). Errors requiring servicing dock popped up after the first jobs. Initial configuration could not proceed without a factory reset. For a flagship product this vacuum has serious issues. It rarely completes even the simplest jobs without assistance. The error messages often include incorrect guidance or information on correcting the errors. Even the simplest functions at the dock, like emptying the bin, fail more often than not. The robot often cannot find its way home, even when operating on the map containing the home base. The almost never completes jobs on maps which do not include the home base, where the vacuum wanders around looking for home base until the battery is drained. The App cannot properly handle multiple maps, and iRobot does not seem to be updating the App at present.

Happy with it
(Review by my husband, for whom I bought it). DISCLOSURES: Nobody gave me anything to review this. I have an IT background and am a UX dweeb (I have a website devoted to the usability of medical software). I am an early adopter, and have had Roombas since the first one. The first one was mostly a technology demonstration (cool toy) but having to put 2x4s on the rug fringes meant it saved absolutely no work. MOBILE APP: Four stars. The app is updated to work with combo Roombas, very nicely, in fact. And the animated Roomba at the top of the screen, that used to take up half the screen, now only takes up a third. It still uses hundreds of pixels to provide one bit of information. As Alan Cooper wrote in 1995 in "About Face: the Essentials of User Interface Design": "No matter how cool your interface, less of it would be better." And the animation distracts you from the REAL information below. SETUP AND INSTRUCTIONS: Three stars. Unlike previous docks, this has a separate lip that needs to be attached. Even though it's pretty obvious where it goes, it would be nice if there were a little note on it saying "attach this to the dock before inserting Roomba." The way I unboxed it the instruction to attach it came AFTER the instruction to insert Roomba. It would be nice for the instructions to have said, "Unlike previous Roombas that go into the dock nose-first, this Roomba goes in butt first." It took me 10-15 minutes to figure why it wouldn't charge when I put it in nose-first. MAPPING: Five stars. I tried importing my old J7+ map, and that has Roomba vacuuming the wrong room and wandering all over the place. I contemplated calling tech support, but given I've done tech support a long time ago, I know that they would just tall me "reboot your computer," or the equivalent for a Roomba, which is "delete your map and do a mapping run." After I did that, which took an hour or two, the new map was considerably better than my old one. And, with my old one, I had contributed my "is this an obstacle" pictures to the database, so there was very little of that with this new Roomba. (My old map had an imaginary corridor off my bedroom from "New Space Found!" which I had divided off as a new room named "Nowhere" which should have been a clue I needed to make a new map. NOISE: Five stars. Compared with our late, lamented J7+ (died after encountering cat diarrhea), it's only about half as loud vacuuming, and emptying in the dock is only about half as loud. Still pretty loud, but not nearly as obnoxious. MOPPING: Four stars. Unlike our late, lamented Scooba, none of the iRobot "mopping" robots actually mop, they just wet-swiffer. On the other hand, Scooba and Braava had issues with our 9" square, handmade, 1/4" deep grout line Mexican clay Saltillo tiles. Braava simply couldn't handle it and I ended up giving it away to someone who had flat floors without thick grout lines who could actually use it. Scooba Combo 10 does a great job of wet-swiffering even our Saltillo tiles, including extra scrubbing where needed. Except that it can only swiffer where it can fit. So, areas of tile or wood floor between rugs, or between a rug and the wall, don't get swiffered. I throw the rugs from our Saltillo-tile bathroom into the shower, and then asked Scooba 10 to now mop the bathroom it had previously mapped. It dutifully mopped the areas that had not been covered with rugs, but then just sat there and stared at the areas that had been covered with rugs and said, "My programming won't allow me to mop there, sorry." So even the areas between the rugs and between the rugs and the wall didn't get swiffered. This is a software issue that can and should be fixed. Works great
This product is the best, I tried another brand and had to return it back. The app works well, I love that I can choose were to send it and if I want moping or vacuum or both. I also love not having to empty the bin as often as my old roomba. It is not as noisy (except when is emptying the bin, that can be loud) and it learns to work around carpets etc. It is not a replacement for a good mop but it definitely keeps the floors clean enough. I have 3 kids and 3 cats and this product really makes my life easier.

DO NOT BUY! WORST PRODUCT EVER by iRobot!
Very disappointing.... I went from the i7+ to this and it was the worst decision. I thought it was going to be an upgrade but other than the very first run, it hasn't worked right since. I loved my i7+, it did really great even with an Australian Sheppard constantly shedding. I thought going up a model that included the mop would be even better and help with the muddy dog prints. WRONG! It worked right ONE time. Since then it's done nothing other than leave streaks every where or not mop at all (no errors, just never gets wet), gets stuck on EVERYTHING! Can't even do a very flat area rug without getting stuck. The mop is a joke and doesn't work. No error and everything under health shows great, most barely even showing any usage at all. I've maybe tried to use the thing like 6 times since it was new out of box. Went to give it another shot today, just to have it do a quick clean up but now after rebooting it from going in circles for 20 minutes, it then started to bump things (as normal) but then reverses to reposition but never stop reversing. Found it 20 minutes later against a wall, still trying to reverse in the same spot. Wheels still turning, luckily it was on a hard floor so didn't ruin any rugs. For the price of this thing, to say I'm disappoint is a major under statement and now it's been too long to return it. At this point, iRobot has lost me as a customer because I will never buy another of their products. That's truly how bad and disappointing this one was. I'D RECOMMEND AVOIDING THIS ONE AT ALL COST. NOT WORTH THE MONEY AND MOST-LIKELY WILL BREAK WITHIN THE FIRST HANDFUL OF USES.

Worst robot ever
Bought it. Tried to love it as we loved so much our old iRobot vacuum. This is the worst of the worst. It is constantly stuck everywhere. It never learns. It vacuums it's own water, creating mold inside of it and needs constant/daily care to be able to work. The lights needs to be on in your rooms for this to work. Yes, you read correctly, it cannot see in the dark.

Works well
So far so good.

Keep expectations low
Was excited to get this to save me some time, cleans poorly and constantly gets clogged with pet hair that never makes it into the dry pickup bin. If we do send this out to clean I have to clean it and touch up the floor so jay as well not use it. Very happy with my other roomba products but stay away from this. Would give it a 0 if I could.

Great product on paper, not so much in real life.
We bought this Combo 10 Max as an upgrade so we can relocate our S9+ to the upstairs, where it's all carpet. Honestly, we enjoyed having it, for about 2 weeks, that is. Within the first week, it operated phenomenally, vacuuming and mopping the room where needed, automatically detecting stains or buildups on the kitchen floor, running all the schedules and automations so we don't have to even think about it. Then week 2 comes, and we start noticing that sometimes in the app, it shows the job was not completed. At first, it's just that cleaning cannot resume due to the bin being full, which is a known issue to us because pet hair is not playing nice with the filter system of the robot, and we had the same issue with our S9+. It still worked for the most part, surprisingly requiring very little attention except for the occasional need to manually empty the bin. Heading into week 3, and all hell broke loose. Every single job will be interrupted by the robot showing an error message. Sometimes it cannot relocalize, sometimes it will spend 2 hours roaming in the house trying to find a way going back to the dock, sometimes it stops in the middle of the room with nothing surrounding it and says it's stuck, sometimes it doesn't even start the scheduled job, sometimes it will clean the same room 4 times and still tries to go back to the same spot. Manually starting a job doesn't fare any better chance either; it will run into whatever issues above within the first 10 minutes. We've chatted with iRobot service reps, googled all error codes (if there's one to begin with), sifted through Reddit trying to find anyone who encountered the same issue, and all came up empty. Even their own rep cannot tell us what's going on other than saying "we don't have any documents regarding these types of random issues." So now we're left with a very expensive cleaning slot machine, my wife's saying is "push the start button and see if we score today. " Until iRobot came up with a fix for either their mapping algorithm or cleaning and localization logic, I cannot recommend this product. The $500 entry models will get the job done in the same way and faster.

Not as advertised
It does not map out the floor very well - just does a small section. The cleaning is very weak. Battery life is maybe 20 minutes. Needs a lot of work. Bought three, one doesn't work
