This came in just in time for moving! It helped me be able to move a lot of things on my own just by being able to have a grip! It is really easy to use, very sturdy and SOOOO helpful!

The 8" Heavy Duty Suction Cup was purchased to aid in placement of ceramic and marble floor and wall tile. Comments following review and testing:The product appears extremely well designed and components appear fabricated from good materials and well assembled.1. The suction cup assembly is provided in a good quality blown plastic storage case which also includes work gloves, a hooked wire, 3 spare parts and a short instruction sheet.2. The assembly is fairly heavy in weight which can be one indication of a quality product.3. The handle, frame and suction cup platform are made of a thick, heavy and rigid plastic material such as the advertised ABS. The suction cup cover is a similar/same material but not as thick or rigid.4. The handle/frame assembly, including the plunger and pressure relief button, is bolted to the suction cup platform - heavy mechanical connection means can be another indicator of a quality product.5. The product incorporates a gauge and dial which is helpful if a specific pressure is required in relation to the weight of the material being lifted. Less specific green and red zones are also included on the dial to indicate general safe and danger levels of pressure, which most users will utilize to ensure a good pressure is obtained and retained.6. The suction cup itself is a heavy but pliable rubber product with incorporated surface ridges for structure during use. A tab is provided on the cup as another option for release of pressure.7. Note the pressure release has an internal spring mechanism vs other products which have an exposed spring which can accumulate debris and is more easily damaged - Nice.8. Two minor faults: 1. The storage case longevity could be improved by replacing the provided living hinge (basically a plastic strap) with a pinned hinge as is provided with the clasps, and 2. The instructions sheet is very brief and does not explain the use of the wire or installation of the spare parts. Neither fault is a deal breaker.9. The overall Form of the suction cup assembly is Impressive - Very Good.Use of the suction cup proved to be very quick, simple and secure.1. Clean and smooth ceramic tile and laminate counter top products were used to test the product.2. The suction cup was placed on 16"x16" tile and charged with the plunger until a "mid-green" range was obtained on the gauge. The suction cup easily lifted the tile and could not be twisted or moved in any manner. The seal was maintained for 5 minutes without a reduction in pressure, and then easily removed with the pressure release button. Flawless.3. The same process was completed with the countertop - roughly 50 pounds in weight - another flawless lift. Neither lift weight came anywhere near the maximum rating of the suction cup, but was impressive regardless.4. Both plunger and pressure release functions were smooth and without issue.Very impressed and pleased with the Form and Function of this suction cup, and the Value is also considered Excellent. The product has not been formally placed into service to evaluate durability or longevity, but the initial review and tests indicate a great performer. This works very well. Nice solid grip. No concern about it letting go. Just have to make sure that it's a flat surface otherwise it won't grab. Product description should be better at pointing out that it's a single. It wasn't clear and in the photos it shows two.

I am not a pro working in the glass or tile installation fields but have seen the pros using them and always wanted one for DIY use. As a homeowner and landlord, who often has to work with older wood frame windows and aluminum frame storm windows, I have had many instances where a storm window is stuck in place, or a wood window is painted shut, and there is no good built in handle. I've accidentally broken the wood or cracked the glass, trying to pry them free with inappropriate tools, and in the case of a few storm windows, that hadn't been moved in probably 50yrs, I wasn't ever able to get them free.When I saw this unit here on Amazon, I was impressed by the great price, and was pumped (no pun intended) to get one of these for myself. My understanding it is important to keep the rubber suction cup surface protected, and this comes with a very nice cap which covers and protects the suction cup, as well as a clamshell case that holds the whole unit with nice robust latches. It also comes with some cool and essential little accessories, such as the very grippy rubber dipped gloves.Even skipping right over the included directions (don't do what I did, definitely read the directions for helpful tips), was able to start using this thing immediately, as it has a very intuitive design. The little pump plunger is easy to push, and it immediately starts sucking onto the surface, and then you can use the handy included gauge to ensure you get into the optimal zone for suction, as well as ensuring you aren't losing suction due to leaks. Then when you are done, the pressure release button easily will release the suction to allow removal of the tool.I can't even begin to tell you how much more comfortable and safe it is to handle windows with proper handles and suction that spreads any loads over a large area, rather than my old methods. I haven't studied it closely, but I know suction cups are also used on cars to pull out dents, and I am hoping that these may be usable for that purpose as well, which would make them a nice "twofer" (two for one).

I am aa bit nervous about using this, since I already hit the release button while using this. I would buy something else if I had to do this again, and will be looking for something safer. This seems to be durable, although it is made with plastic. It is rated at over 800 lbs which is why I bought this since I have heavy glass to move.

Does not work. The suction cup has holes so ir doesnt stick.

I used this suction cup 1 time with placing a stationary picture window. It suctioned very well on fresh clean glass and did not lose suction (thankfully) as the window was quite expensive. The plunger is easy to depress and it's large cup made it easy to manipulate the glass when installing. I also liked the size of the handle. It wasn't too small or too large, and did not slip. Overall, I'd say it was a good tool to use for my window installation. Would recommend.
