Review: Lodge the name u can trust..... - Buy it..you will never regret.....it's Lodge ....the name u can trust.... It's little bit heavy and u have to season it before use as it has some coating on it...takes little bit time to heat and once it get heated it stays heated for long ....be careful as the handle gets very hot while cooking ....use medium flame while cooking ... wash gently with mild soap afterwards ...Use soft scrubber.....Dry well and apply little oil on both sides ...and thats it .....it will serve u a lifetime....Using it for a year now and still it looks brand-new as I take care of it properly....Again i am telling after cooking allow it to cool then wash it , dry it and apply oil....Be aware that within an hour rust will appear on the pan if u don't apply oil.....For seasoning always put oil and heat with high flame till it smokes and reapply oil again once the oil get absorbed . after that u r pan will become nonstick...Do this always before cooking.... Update- using this since 2016 and still looKing new and serving me well....Thanks lodgy

**Q: How about its performance on an electric stove for making indian rotis/chapattis/breads?**
A: All electric cooking ranges output heat in a 'Sine Wave' pattern, implies the heat goes up and down. Reason....if the range is set for, say, 150 deg....the range tries to reach that temperature and heats up to reach the 150 deg BUT WILL NOT STOP THERE! Realizes that it is past 150 deg, tries to come back by switching off, hence cools and passes the 150 deg park on the downward run, then realizes it went past the 150 deg so heats up again...and the cycle continues. Due to this, any electric range, including induction stove, will output heat in a 'Sine Wave' fashion, up-down-up-down...hence does not give good results for PRECISION cooking that is need for Chapatis/Dosas etc where a constant heat is expected. A gas range does great job in all situations.

**Q: I like to make small personal pizzas, will this work instead of the 14" pizza pan which is too big.**
A: It is excellent for this purpose, but you should also consider the Lodge pizza griddle. I preheat to 500, insert my pizza on a pizza screen and then slide off onto the cast iron after 4-5 minutes. I lightly oil the screen but not the pan. The 14" griddle is a terrific pan for many purposes, and it retains higher heat even if you're only using a small part of the surface. Some people use it as a "pizza stone." I use both these pans very frequently.

**Q: Does this pan work on an induction stove?**
A: It works.... but you've got to really watch it ... The cast Iron ware I use (1 vintage wagner bought at a yard sale, and 2 new lodge products) gets too hot and in turn heats the induction plate so high it turns off... I have a salton portable cook top from costco (similar to ASIN:B00FAD57SC Salton Induction Cooker Energy efficiency 300W-1800W, 140F-465F)

**Q: How high is the lip on the pan? Could I use it to fry something in a half inch of oil?**
A: Lip is about one half inch and rounded. I would never use this pan with more than a coating of oil. Using more could cause a spill and fire.

Buy it..you will never regret.....it's Lodge ....the name u can trust.... I’ve using this everyday since a month, it’s working fine in terms of durability , it has to be seasoned every time u wash it. Sturdiness is good. Value for money - it’s very expensive. The only problem there is a problem oil seeps to the sides of the pan, in the middle food gets stuck so adjusting flame n the pan has to be continuously done while cooking and u hv to add oil also so that food doesn’t stick in between .. otherwise it’s good for tawa fries. Roti and paratha gets a little hard when u cook, perfect for dosa and fries. Also a handle cover is imp or else chances r the that you burn urself
