I read that this was dishwasher safe but in the instruction manual, it said not to wash the lid in the dishwasher?

The Lid has a silicone seal around its edge which may cause cleaning issues if food particles get trapped under the silicone seal, i believe this to be the only issue, i've placed every part of this in the dishwasher lid and all, i just give the lid an extra wipe down afterwords, about 60+ complete dishwashes later lid and all still perfect. i hope this helps.
