If the flame appears "ragged" or smoky, reduce the amount of wick. note **fill with torch fuel only. Functional but bad wicks and only fits certain bottles
These are attractive and serve the purpose but you have to find the right bottles for them to fit well on. Sure, you can also find different o-rings too, but they would be a better packaged system if they sent a few different o-rings with these so you didn't have to spend the time making them work. The actual wicks were useless for us...or the tiki torch fuel we have available at the local home improvement store is weaker than these are designed for. They are too dense and dont burn even after soaking in the fuel. We had old replacement wicks from other tiki torch parts we replaced them with and they work fine...but not the wicks that came with these.I have left one of these out in rain and sun several times and it hasn't seemed to affect the finish yet. So these are OK if you dont mind augmenting them to fit the bottle, or waiting till you have the perfect bottle. We use clear beer/cider bottles and cut the wicks down to fit. They dont fit perfectly but we like the smaller size bottle and the clear bottles with the copper colored caps look nice. Gives you the same flame without having to use so much fuel in the larger bottles.

Don't waste your money, the wick and fluid will become deluted
There's a hole in the top of the topper that allows water into the wick and delutes the fluid ... Looks nice and works well until you have a rain storm or two. Don't waste your money on these, or any that have the hole in the top. Im out $26 plus materials ... Around $50 for something that lasted 1-2 weeks. They'd be too complex to take them down after each use, they do not just snap in.

Good looking kit
This is a great kit. I've turned some of my favorite wine bottles into fun tiki torches for my back patio. A few of the wicks were woven very tightly and don't allow for a steady burn but the others worked great. Double check wick before filling the bottle with torch fluid.

Will not stay lit
As other reviewers noted... will not stay lit, even after soaking in tiki brand fluid for many hours. The other parts are OK... functional but very cheap looking. If you can spend a few extra bucks, order the other parts individually, and for sure you will need to buy new wicks.

Finicky about the oil/fuel.
I tried this with ordinary olive oil. It burned fine if the bottle was completely filled with oil. Once the oil reached 3 inches below the top of the wick (after about three hours), it went out. With a lighter oil it might work better.

Okay...
Aesthetically, these are pretty! But functionally, they sometimes stay lit and other times go out almost immediately. May have to change the wick to the brand we bought last year and just use the toppers from this set.

Does not stay li
Love the look , the length of wicks is perfect but unfortunately the fiberglass did not pull / wick the oil. It doesn't stay lit.
