Review: A Brilliant Batman Graphic Novel book - I am on a marathon bing reading of the Batman Graphic Novels. I have already read them over five years ago so it was a real pleasure to reread them all again. I just simply love the drawings, the colors, the story plot and the dialogue. Keep up your brilliant Batman Graphic Novels series. Best wishes Sean
Review: Wedding Bells but... - A strong continuation of the Batman Rebirth story. Art work is amazing throughout. Plot zips along nicely. Wouldn’t consider it a good jumping on point. Try Volume 1 as some threads are tied up here.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Bad Joke(r) and Top Cat

The seventh volume in Tom King's truncated Batman run is, um, certainly not the best and is inferior to Volume 6 Rules of Engagement (4 1/2 Stars!) but for all that its well worth reading. The opening three-parter is - as Mr Mice Guy points out - inspired by Alan Moore's classic SUPERMAN tale, For The Man Who Has Everything. Unfortunately, The Gift brings out the worst of King's writing particularly in the hyuk-hyuk-hyuk dumbbell characterization of Booster Gold (see his own HEROES IN CRISIS or the classic superhero comedy adventure of Giffen and DeMatteis's JUSTICE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL/AMERICA for Booster written properly and amusingly) and the tonally schizophrenic idiot plot. Seeing as the ending of this story is supposed to affect events in the wedding tale itself the absurdity, nonsensicality, and uberviolence is self-sabotaging with an illogicality that brings back terrifying flashbacks to Geoff Johns's goofydark Flashpoint (a reference that is is appropriate to King's Batman run for reason that would count as spoilers, I suppose. Tony S. Daniel's mediocre art doesn't help. Next up, we have a vignette from DC Nation #0 featuring a certain Clown Prince of Crime; good art from Clay Mann but King's Joker is too much the homicidal psycho. Note to DC writers: The cracked comedian of Batman villains does not have to slaughter people in EVERY SINGLE STORY! Batman ends up looking culpable for the continued existence of a creature who is purely evil and has a bodycount greater than any twenty real-life serial killers put together, not only that but it is boring and morally repugnant. Public Service Announcement Ends. The same criticism partly applies to the following two-parter, The Best Man, but this becomes *much * better when Catwoman turns up, whilst Mikel Janin's art is great as usual. Finally we arrive at The Wedding Of Batman and Catwoman, about which I will say little more other than the art by Janin with a stellar guest cast is mostly marvelous and although the issue is divisive (and unsurprisingly so) there is a sweetness about - some - of it that makes it of a piece with the best of King's run. Bruce and Selina Forever! P.S. Poor Kiteman: Hell, Yeah!
