Ocean's Trilogy [Blu-ray]

I recently purchased the Ocean's Trilogy on Blu-ray, and I must say, it's a must-have for any movie enthusiast! I bought this movie set to update our movie library, replacing the DVD versions of the same three movies. The blu-ray versions of all 3 movies are of excellent quality, and play exactly as expected. There are no previews to other movies, and there are no extra features on these discs, just one movie on each disc. So if you are looking for bloopers, making of, and director commentaries nothing like that is provided on any of the discs...just excellent movies, excellent characters, excellent actors. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

I'd never seen the two sequels before purchasing this trilogy, but the $15 price for the set was to good to resist. "Ocean's 11" is wonderful, of course -- a witty and clever and exciting crime caper. "Ocean's 12" caught me a bit off-guard. It has a more convoluted plot -- more artsy than the other two films, perhaps because it's set in Europe -- and took a good 45-minute to get moving, for me. Still, I enjoyed it and suspect I'll enjoy it more the second time around. "Ocean's 13" is perhaps the equal of "Ocean's 11". It's complex -- but not convoluted -- and lots of fun. $15 for all three films -- on blu-ray! -- is really a bargain.The quality of the blu-ray picture itself isn't anything special. It's fine and all that, but the films have sort of an orange cast to them and a soft focus -- no doubt the director's intention. It's not that they look bad, but just that they don't have the clarity of some blu-rays, like "Lawrence of Arabia", "The Adventures of Robin Hood", or "The Untouchables". The sound is fine, but generally lacks any exciting surround sound panning -- these films aren't "Top Gun" after all. All in all, a worthy purchase and a good deal.

These are all awesome movies and it’s great to be able to have them on a multipack instead of having to get them all separately. They arrived in great condition.

I'm sure everyone has seen this series so my rating is not based on the plot or acting quality. Everything looks great in HD, of course. The problem is that because they are crooks (lovable crooks, but crooks nonetheless) their operations usually happen at night or in the dark. That means tons of film noise, which is gloriously captured in 1080p. I find that some of the night/dark shots are grainy to a point of being obvious, though not enough to annoy me. It's like two guys sitting next to you in the theater, constantly chatting away in low volumes. It doesn't distract from the movie, but you'd enjoy things a little more if it weren't there. That's the only minor imperfection I could find. Everything else is marvelous.

I've had it. I've had it with people talking about the best trilogies of all time and leaving out this one. Don't worry, I've heard all of the criticism already, you don't even need to waste your time. I've heard that Ocean's Twelve is a mish-mash of witticisms and European landscapes and that Ocean's Thirteen, while on one hand is a triumphant return to Vegas, lacks the overall magic of the first film. Well, let me just say this: you're dead wrong. This is, without a doubt, the best and most entertaining trilogy you'll ever have the joy of laying your peasant eyes on. Ocean's Eleven is arguably a perfect film. I dare you to come up with a legitimate complaint with this film (don't worry, it can't be done). Ocean's Twelve is a delightful romp through Soderbergh's cinematographic dreams, coupled with excellent performances, despite the under utilization of Bernie Mac. Ocean's Thirteen rebuffs the obviously weaker Twelve with a stronger use of Bernie Mac and a smoother ensemble feel to the movie. These movies, altogether, are truly masterpieces. Don't waste your time on 15 hours of Lord of the Rings, or the Ewok song. This is where it's at, buddy. You're not doing much better than this.

i just bought this for $30 which is worth it because buying seperate would be about 40 and everyone saying that it doesnt look good must not have a 1080p tv or not a good one because i have a 50 inch samsung 1080p plasma and it looks amazing bluray is bluray a movie made in 1985 on bluray wont look as good as a movie made in 2011 on bluray but this should look great on any tv as long as ur tv is 1080p i have audioquest cables and i must say that they are just as good as $100 monster cables and i payed $60 for them as far as sound quality if ur using tv speakers it will still sound good but having a home theater system is much better i have the bose cinemate GS series 2 because i dont have room to put speakers behind me but the sound is amazing just as good as a big 5.1 system maybe better and just 1 plug into ur tv thats it hope this helps

Veloce, dinamica, adrenalinica, soprendente.Questi gli aggettivi per descrivere una trilogia come questa.Con un cast stellare (George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia, Al Pacino), questa trilogia punta principalmente ad un solo obbiettivo: quello di stupire continuamente lo spettatore, nello svolgersi in ambientazioni di grande impatto, da Las Vegas, all'europa dell'est, all'Italia.A fare da cornice, l'altrettanto di grande effetto colonna sonora composta da David Holmes, che richiama volutamente l'invincibile ed eroica musica degli anni '70, rispecchiando così l'infallibilità degli 11-12-13 protagonisti alle prese con colpi sempre più complicati, che faranno rimanere lo spettatore senza fiato.Ciliegina e citazione musicale ricorrente nei tre film è una delle più famose Suite composte dal compositore e pianista francese Claude Debussy tra la fine del 1800 e i primi del 1900, il terzo e più famoso movimento della Suite Bergamasque "Clair de lune", particolarmente indimenticabile in Ocean's Eleven alla fine del colpo, con tutti i protagonisti intenti ad ammirare i giochi d'acqua della fontana del Bellagio di Las Vegas.Per chi ama il cinema, in sintesi, questa trilogia è assolutamente imperdibile.Il tutto ad un prezzo davvero molto conveniente.Il pacco è arrivato ben 3-4 giorni prima della data predestinata alla consegna, con sabato e domenica nel mezzo. Spedizione davvero veloce.Unico dettaglio, avendo preso anche altri prodotti insieme, la scatola mi è sembrata abbastanza piccola e con poca imbottitura, difatti su un prodotto è rimasto il segno di un altro che si trovava pressato sopra.Se gli articoli sono in un buon numero, è bene migliorare questo dettaglio, per una maggiore godibilità del prodotto, senza danneggiare la confezione di altri presenti nello stesso pacco.
