Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT Solar Charge Controller 100V 50A 12/24V

A few years ago I bought a complete 24v off grid kit from a provider of end-to-end solutions. This for an off grid office I use as my daily workplace. The kit included a different brand of charge controller. Hell, I've been tinkering with that MPPT for years always suspecting something is just not correct. Finally I thought I'd try this Victron CC and it has made an amazing difference. Mainly it keeps the batteries in better health. For the saving of my anxiety of battery state alone it's well worth the extra £50 of the origanl. In terms of how the Victron is better at managing the battery bank it's probably going to save me hundreds, if not thousands! I've done so much research and I cannot find another MPPT that comes close to Victron's ability. It's small, build quality is excellent, setup is simple with the Victron app. I'm now a total convert to this brand.

It’s a brilliant bit of kit! It charges battery’s and easy to set up, iv recently upgraded from a generic not mppt solar charger and it was not stopping charging at 100% giving me voltage problems and it would charge slowly. This on the other hand, iv hooked it up put the setting of the battery In and it just works! No voltage problems and charging faster than the old one! My advice is to spend the money! You get what you pay for!!!

What more can i say , It`s one, if not the BEST solar charge controller out on the market for the home consumer that you can currently buy. It can take a maximum Solar Input of 50A at 100 Volt. Its Maximum output is 50A at 12/24V. This Victron controller has an inbuilt bluetooth capability built in it. What that means is, you download the Victron App (Google Play/iPhone Store) and install it on your Mobile phone. You turn on Bluetooth on your mobile and then search for your controller while very close to it. Theirs a CODE on the side of the Controller that you will need to be able to connect to it, as its used as the password while connecting to it. When you connect to it, you can change settings, like maximum charge input in AMPS. It will store all data on how much solar energy its collected, etc. It has a maximum effect range of 15-20 Feet, dont believe what the documents say. This is one of the best, controllers out their in the world for the consumer. !!! You get what you pay for !!! Spend a little more and buy the best , rather than the cheapest, to which you`ll have to replace earlier than this solar charge controller.

These a a great bit of kit, I've got 2 solar strings into two of these chargers connected to 2x 24volt battery banks in parallel. They network together via Bluetooth and act as one charger 100amp charger... You can bring up the charging data along with the past data via the Bluetooth on your phone to check how they're performing... So glad I bought these, they are quality.

This is very good and working well ,but not for me as I am putting more solar panel , buying a hybrid inveter with charger . It is excellent for small set up .

Ich habe mir den Victron Mppt Laderegler für mein Autark Paket gekauft. Er arbeitet zusammen mit 2x 170 Watt Solarpanels, einer 100Ah Powerqueen Batterie und einem 3000w Wechselrichter. Was soll ich sagen, läuft super. Ein Wochenende war Kaffeekochen und sogar Brötchen backen ein ganzes Wochenende möglich. Ein anderen Urlaub 5 Tage Kaffeekochen mit der Nespresso. Ich habe die Batterie nur einmal am Ende des Urlaubs leer bekommen. Es war der Reisetag, zwei Stunden Rast und die Batterie war wieder voll. Natürlich liegt es auch an den Solarpanels aber 340w ist jetzt auch nicht so sehr viel. Ich hatte in unserem vorherigen Wohnwagen einen anderen Hersteller, der war bei weitem nicht so gut. Dort waren 2x200w verbaut und es hat trotzdem länger gedauert, bei gleicher Batterie. Ich kann diesen Victron wärmstens empfehlen. BT funktioniert tadellos, die Einstellungen über die App ist super. Ein Display und Knöpfe vermisse ich nicht. Einmal konfiguriert und gut. Den Ladeverlauf finde ich interessant. So verbaut bin ich sicher für die nächsten Jahre und das System zieht einfach mit um in den nächsten Wohnwagen bzw. Wohnmobil.

This is my first solar charger used on my RV. Seems to be working great after first trip out. Mostly purchased Victron products and everything works extremely well together through the app.

Ho acquistato tre SmartSolar 100/50: uno per il camper e due per l’impianto di casa. A questi ho aggiunto anche un 100/20 per gestire un piccolo array di pannelli orientato diversamente. Arrivo da regolatori Epever, che hanno sempre funzionato bene, ma con Victron ho ottenuto un miglioramento evidente nella gestione e nel monitoraggio. Le prestazioni sono eccellenti: l’MPPT reagisce rapidamente alle variazioni di luce e mantiene una produzione stabile. Il Bluetooth è molto comodo, l’app VictronConnect è chiara e permette di configurare tutto senza toccare l’apparato. Inoltre è possibile leggere i dati anche da dispositivi esterni, come piccoli display basati su ESP32 (vedi foto), oppure integrarli via MQTT per chi vuole un monitoraggio più avanzato. L’unico limite riguarda la morsettiera a vite. Come tutte le morsettiere, nel tempo tende ad allentarsi. Se l’apparato è montato in verticale, i cavi di grossa sezione pesano e possono scendere leggermente: è importante ancorarli per evitare trazioni. Su uno dei miei regolatori ho avuto un contatto intermittente che ha causato una parziale fusione del cavo; me ne sono accorto subito e l’apparato non si è danneggiato, ma resta un punto da migliorare. Una morsettiera più robusta, pensata per sezioni maggiori, oppure un sistema a bulloni, risolverebbe il problema alla radice con un aumento di costo minimo. Per il resto, prodotto affidabile, versatile e con un ecosistema software che fa davvero la differenza. Lo ricomprerei senza esitazioni.
