I really didn't expect it to be able to do that but it did. I then used feather and wedges to split the Rock it was a 3250 pound black granite Boulder, and I would not have been able to do it had it not been for this drill! It never got hot it got warm but it never got hot it never overheated the only thing I can see that the drawback on this particular drill as I wish I had had an extra battery it only comes with one battery. It's definitely worth the money that I paid for it the only thing that I can find that's equivalent to it is made by Milwaukee tool company and would have cost 10 to 15 times the amount that I paid for this one. I don't care that it's made in China there is a lot of stuff that comes out of China that's really good stuff I wish it was made in the States but it's not. And when you're trying to do work and you're just the average person you need to be able to buy something that will do the job, and do it well without it costing an arm and a leg. It's a really good tool the battery life was really good because it held up to an hour and a half of hard work. In that hour and a half I managed to drill 13 holes 4 to 5 in deep and a piece of black granite a boulder! It is an excellent value for the money it's obviously good quality because it holds up it doesn't break easily and the materials it's made from a rigid and tough! I specifically bought it to bust concrete off several broken vinyl fence posts- and It did that- about 200 pounds worth on half a battery. I haven't tried to drill yet, but I expect it to work fine. For around the home, it's great.
