Mirco has captured in very concise form the concepts and practical steps leaders in an IT organization need to transform.  Throughout the book, as he describes how to lead the transformation to a highly capable and effective IT delivery organization, Mirco describes why legacy modes of thinking and doing IT are not suited to the nature of IT work, especially in today's demanding markets and with available technologies.  He provides valuable tools I've not found elsewhere, like the Continuous Delivery technology tree on pp 94-95; "First Steps for Your Organization" sidebars on how to implement practices; and diagrams of different delivery models.This book has joined my collection of essential publicationss in the DevOps space, e.g.,The DevOps Handbook

This book is incredibly helpful for any business looking to embrace the power of DevOps.  Mirco goes way beyond the technical aspects of embracing automation in software delivery, covering everything from what it takes to change behavior of employees to how to make an effective case for change (and investment) with senior leadership.  By incorporating content on the ingredients such as Agile, measurement and organization culture, Mirco enables anyone to develop an effective roadmap for achieving higher quality, incrementally delivered software which delights users.  I liked Mirco's approach of using his real-life experiences in consulting to puncture the right - and wrong - approaches, providing real-world examples and guidance for embracing DevOps at scale.
