Is it possible to check the history of codes?

as long as they have not be fully cleared.  say you have a bad O2 sensor and replace it but do not clear out the codes.  they will still be there nut check engine light will be off.  and the only way to find out is with a scan tool of some sort.

I would suggest if you are going to buy on eof these dont, it was apian to get it activated then  to get the updates thenn i was told by customer service i would have to pay a $150.00 befor ei could use it which was a lie , I would purchase a Topdon brand they have better customer service or a Thinkcar Thinktool Pros Bi-Directional Scanner Full Systems Diagnostic Scan Tool, this here by think car i think is the best you get what you pay for  give them both a call to customer service they can help from either company,, also you may want to try inova brand but your going to have to get a pro scanner version of one of them in order for them to be able to work
