No, this is just edge dressing. You would need to strip off the original color and dye. Best done by shoe cobblers.

Q: Does this come off the rubber sides too easy? Or does it last a long time?

Durability is the same as other edge dressings I have used.

Q: looking to change rubber soles from white to black will this wirk?

I don’t believe this will serve your purpose. It’s pretty light and only lasts one or two wears on my leather soles/heels. I’d try a really thick black Majic Marker brand marker first.
