Pretty impressive little generic self-defense blade.
This is a "black box knife", which are all made in China, are typically copies of expensive American or Euro designs, packaged in solid generic black boxes and then sold by a number of Amazon and Ali "brands" (that pop in and out of existence) for around $30. Unlike the "gas station knives” that come in thin white boxes, "black box knives" are actually made rather well, with decent materials and workmanship. This little ring dagger is no exception. The fit and finish are both nice, with a well ground, "blackwash" finished, full tang, double edged dagger profile blade sporting a set of fine and reasonably sharp edges. The grind lines seem to be right on the tip too. The ring capped tang features good chamfering, and the well-machined and fitting black G10 scales that cover it also look good while being securely attached with four T8 fasteners. In addition, the Kydex sheath also looks good, has solid retention and comes with a decent MOLLE compatible Tek-Lok clone. I really couldn't find anything to complain about in this area, especially for the price. The blade is made from the ubiquitous Chinese D2 tool steel, which is what you would expect at this price range. No way of knowing whether the D2 here is of correct composition or is heat tempered to decent hardness. However, hardness (giving you good edge retention) is not necessarily what you want on a knife like this. Arguably, toughness is more important in this case and D2 is tougher when it’s not too hard. Either way, D2 is not a true stainless steel and may rust when not properly taken care of in a humid climate. The ergonomics are good for what this tool is made to do. The G10 scales are nicely contoured and textured. The ring is more than big enough to fit a large male’s entire index or even middle finger and once you do that, the rest of your fingers naturally wrap around the handle, giving you an extremely solid feeling “icepick" grip, with little chance of slipping. What’s also great is that the sheath allows you to establish the full grip before you pull the knife out, making this tool very quick to deploy for “action”. The knife allows you to do two types of “hammer” grip, one being more “tactical” with your pinky in the ring and the other being more for regular cutting tasks, where you bypass the ring. The “tactical” hammer grip can also be achieved without unsheathing first. This knife is obviously not designed as a practical cutting tool and is definitely not something to get if you’re doing a lot of cutting or slicing as part of your daily routine. The dagger blade profile is just far from ideal for this kind of stuff and the ergonomics are optimized for the more “tactical” applications. However, the knife will still cut most stuff just fine in a pinch, making it a less-than-ideal but still suitable EDC for application. Still, it’s designed as a last-ditch self-defense tool foremost and outside of blade steel quality concerns, it’s well suited for that purpose, especially as a weak-hand backup implement. Some people call these things the “get off me” knives. Anyway, for the price, I can’t really fault this knife for anything, and am glad to have added it to my collection. Recommended.

Decent dagger boot/belt knife.
Decent boot/belt knife and sheath for the price. Handle a little bit too thin and long for to get a completely solid grip on it, but that's for my hands. May be perfect for someone else. Gave 4 stars because I believe the finish could be better on the blade.

Good for price, however
would be 5 stars but the handle is oddly long. The purpose and design of this kind of knife is for a finger to fit into the loop well having a secure grip on the handle. The hand length is too long making the blade section unstable during operation.

case and belt clip does not work good for this knife
knife I nice and the case is nice too, but the belt clip is bulky, and I have tried to put the smaller one on it but the holes to hold the belt clip is not friendly. I need to find something that will work with this blade and case so I can carry it.
