Knipex does it again.
These are great wire strippers. I work in Avionics installation and have been using these strippers for about a month. The mechanism for separating the wire from the sheath is pretty simple, and doesnโt use clamps. The teeth for the different wire sizes are honed very sharply. I look forward to using these for a long time!

Works Great
best wire-strippers I have every used. I have tried other brands of the same type too. I just took off the piece of plastic seemed kinda annoying to use. only con is how they are big if you are working in Extremely tight areas.

Great product
This works the best with wire coating that are slippery. The depth stopping makes it easy to repeat the stripping length.

Five Stars
These are the strippers to get if you need to strip teflon insulated wire.

Best wire strippers for PTFE insulation, not for MTW/PVC !
Notice that these do not grip the insulation, they just cut and spread. They are great for PTFE insulation. Negative reviews are likely from people trying to use these on normal PVC insulated MTW or similar wire and the insulation just crumples up on them.

NOT FOR AVIATION
These are the worst wire strippers I've ever used. Get the $80 knockoffs instead that are more accurate and pull the wire from one direction. I wouldn't let someone give me these for free. Not to mention the plastic piece literally disintegrated in my hands when I took it out of the packaging.

They just work.
I needed a pair of strippers that can strip PTFE (Teflon) jacketed wire. These Knippex ones work very well. They are a bit "finicky" to use since both side of the jaws move. And they are really sharp (at least they are as new). So they take a bit of getting used to. They were a bit expensive, but less so than a thermal wire stripper. I haven't used them for PVC much but they seem to work well there too. But for hard-to-strip Teflon jackets, I highly recommend them.
