do the wings have to be 14 inches? they cant be positioned closed or partially folded?

The wings cannot be closed since that is how they are molded. If you buy the Bronx NECA figure, it comes with a closed wing accessory for Goliath.

Bf is happy with his birthday present. Great quality and delivery on time. Only thing packaging can improve to prevent damage on the original box the item comes in. As collectors we keep the boxes as part of maintaining the value of the product.
