Best headset available for video without question
This is the best headset available for watching videos. Better than the eye glasses types, better than apple vision pro, better than metaquest or other vr headset. Not even close. You can actually get all of the picture including the edges in focus. It doesnt leave welts on your face that take 20 minutes to disappear. You can wear it for long periods without discomfort. I only wish they sold an adapter to snap on to block out light when you want to. The picture size is smaller than the goovis max, but the picture is easier to get in complete focus and the goovis max can still leave impressions on your face. Its a trade off.

Goovis Art review. The one to read.
I wear glasses and wanted AR glasses to watch movies and game but the added cost of another prescription for them wasn't worth it. Especially if I have no idea what I was getting into like issues of AR glasses having blurriness on the sides. And VR headsets are too big and heavy. I saw the Goovis Art with it's support for people who wear glasses and gave it a shot. My primary use is for movies and games btw. Using it in lit conditions is very impressive as no outside light will effect your OLED screen view. At all. Amazing accomplishment. It's fairly light and comfortable to a degree. I could wear it for 3hrs before I needed to take it off. Enough for gaming or a movie. I didn't mess with the settings much but mainly to get proper focus. After that, settings were untouched. So about the band that goes on your forehead. It should be tight enough so the Art doesn't wobble too much. Which could lead to an uneven view or even slight blurriness. For user's who wear prescription lens, in some cases, the Art will touch your glasses/lens if you lay your head down which could scratch them. It also adds slight pressure to your glasses due to weight which you feel on your nose between your eyes. Adjusting the hinge or band can sometimes help. OLED picture is good though there are some details lost in dark scenes and could use better brightness to fix it. I suspect most people will be using the Art at max brightness because that is where it looks best. Screen size is reasonably good. I heard some reviews saying that the screen could be bigger and I agree. However, this screen size/housing allows you to see your surroundings a lot better so it's a tradeoff. It's a fair amount of room to look around like for your coffee or someone you need to talk to. For a screen size test, I played Sleeping Dogs with the subtitles. This game has tiny subtitles which always annoyed me. On the Art, the screen size and distance is a mildly good fix for this situation. 3D movies work! I was skeptical on this and some people say it doesn't. It does but only seems to accept left and right 3D type contents. The top and bottom 3D content don't work. Watched "The Meg" and "Pacific Rim" in 3d and it was glorious! For my Rog Ally handheld, it is a mixed issue. The Art works and it works well. However, as some may know, the Ally has only 1 usb c port. So you will have to go off it's battery. If your thinking of using a dock, the Art doesn't work here with a dock at all for some reason(even if it's highly powered). Only straight into the Ally's only usb port. If your handheld has 2 usb ports, then your lucky. You can use the Art and charge your handheld at the same time. While Goovis has a solution for this through their accessories, they are costly and add more cables to the mix. Time to upgrade my handheld I guess... I have a current Samsung Android smartphone and it unfortunately doesn't work when plugged in. I tried everything and googled the issue with no fix. I contacted Goovis and THEY DID NOT RESPOND. What also doesn't work is the audio. No sound when audio is plugged in. But I use my dac for that so it's not a big issue. Another issue is the usb c port itself. Goovis wants you to buy only their usb c cable and they pulled this off by making the usb c port on the Art TINY. And their usb c cable has a very thin housing which is why it fits. I have a bunch usb c cables and all couldn't fit. From a greedy perspective, this is brilliant without going into proprietary designs. With all this said this is where 2 full stars gets knocked off. I've had my Goovis Art for almost a month now. While I like it and do recommend it but only with caution. One, certain things don't work and the company is not responsive. They should be because one of their claims is the Art is compatible with an Android phone. If you need it for anything else, I would say works really well and is worth the price. Just barely. Improvements for future model?: -Larger screen. Just a bump without losing too much of your outer view. -Better usb c cable support, lol. -Gaming oriented features: 120hz and VRR -Add silicone ends the screen housing so it doesn't scratch glasses for users who wear them or simply have an extension to distance the Art slight further away from the face so it doesn't touch the glasses which puts pressure on the user's face. Hope this review helps anyone who's interested in getting one.

I like these for entertainment just can't use them for 3D
These are definitely on the pricey side and if not for the vine I would pass on them unless the price came down a lot for these. With that said. First impression was that some other unit was needed to make these work. I took a chance and just plugged them into the phone. Woo ha I can't belive it that it is a extra screen. Samsung dex came up and I can use it just like a computer. It is not bright when looking into is so using out in the sun does not work all that great and when getting out of the sun is totally nice. For me it was easy to use where I just plug into the phone and there it is. Using the phone as a mouse and keyboard I have a fully functional computer. Says it has speakers and earphone output and I have not tried the earphone port. The little speakers do not work and I tried many settings. Guess external earphones are always needed. I have a pair that is Bluetooth and work great. Draw back on hooking to a phone is it drains the battery quickly depending on the size of the phone battery. I like that I can adjust each eye so I don't need to wear eyeglasses and I still can if I want. Adjusting the equipment is ok. Have to adjust it higher or lower on the forehead with the band and push them to the eyes or away. They will get very close to the eyes. Even if they are very close to the eyes I can still see the environment around me around the edges. This has an option for 3d and will enter into the 3d mode. The way it is right now is the screen gets split down the middle then each eye gets half. The problem is both overlap and best thing too is 3d movies are really now in the past from tvs already toing the same thin and not alot of demand on 3d. Customer service said the file needs to be on the device that these are connected to. When I tried with a 3d file it just did not work with these. 3d moves are out. When i do wear them they like to keep moving on my head from my hair. Just keeps creating up and does not want to stay unless tight and becomes uncomfortable. Instructions definitely says to not hook up to power source from damaging it. There are no batteries in the unit. I like that when taking off the goggles they turn off from a sensor seeing more light. When putting them on it will turn on as long it's plugged into something. I belive these are very good quality and good materials making this. I give 4 stars from the price.

It's ok for movies horrible for computer use
They all have the same issue a giant screen way to close to your face you can't see the hole image, also leads to the problem of when using this for computer use its hard to see the interface elements..

The tech you didn't know you needed, but won't want to live without
This Goovis device is fantastic for gaming and movies, and works when I wear my glasses! The best part though is that I don't need them. The picture is crisp, clear, phenomenal. I found this headset by accident while scrolling, and paused to ask my nephew what it was and how it works. I didn't even know a device like this existed, and now I don't want to live without it. I can wear the head piece comfortably for hours, I have a good view of my surroundings, and it's made games and movies so much easier on my eyes. I've found myself using it a ton for handheld gaming especially. Tiny screens on handheld systems and my bad vision are not a match made in heaven- I end up hurting my posture, sitting in weird positions to hold a screen close to my face. This head mounted display fixes all of that, the screen is a pleasure to watch, and at the end of a long stretch of gaming I no longer feel like I've broken my body somehow with a very non-athletic hobby. The Goovis Art XR Head Mounted Display is an item I never would have guessed would be useful to me, a grown adult woman nearing her 50's who mostly games in occasional marathon sessions with friends. But it works with my laptop too! I work from home a ton, this baby is a game-changer for work tasks. One of my favorite things is to sit outside to work or write throughout the warmer months. Even with glare screens and whatever adjustable shade situation I've set up, I'm always dealing with some level of glare and again, weird sitting positions to avoid the sun. This device is a magical solution- I can see clearly, I can still keep an eye on activity around me, and I can sit however I want. My teenage nephew, who does have experience with these (and had some device envy) tells me that it is a much better quality build than the other he'd tried, and is lighter and more comfortable to wear. I can see that it's built well, doesn't feel flimsy, it feels like it will hold up. It already has held up well, I've been using it for a couple months now and everyone in my large family has tried it. I'm sorry I don't have more technical knowledge for my review because this device is cool as all get out and I bet there are a bunch of old people out there who would love to use it. What I can say is that it's easy to set-up and use based on the instructions, without technical knowledge. It's awesomely convenient for work and gaming and movies, and I would purchase it in the future, in a second. It's well worth the price, and not just for gamers. Easy 5 stars for me. Why did you pick this product vs others?: I chose this item because it sounded like a good way to improve my downtime hobbies, and increase my physical comfort. I was right!

Good design but poor quality control (2 units with dead pixels and dental chips)
I like the product design, it's very light, the screen looks better than those AR glasses, but the problem is quality control. The first unit I got has a single dead pixel on the left panel and came with a small dent. The replace I got is much worse, came with 5+ dead pixels and a chip (see the photo) Maybe I'm just unlucky, but I have multiple XR products including Quest 2/3, Vive, Vision Pro, none of them have dead pixels

Outstanding HMD for watching movies and gaming.
I am amazed at how good the image looks in this headset. I have the Viture XR One glasses (first gen, not the new pro version), and IMO the Goovis Art looks much clearer. If you have never used this type of headset before, one of the problems is that the corners of the display tend to be just outside of your peripheral vision and get cut off. That's been my biggest problem with the Viture glasses, mostly because the Viture One has a fixed pupil distance. Also, the Viture uses a swappable nose piece to adjust it to fit your face. Not a problem with the Goovis, as you can adjust for PD, and the headband allows you to position the display exactly where you want it. I also have the Viture One Neckband, and I can confirm that it works great with Goovis, though I had to order the Viture Magnetic USB adapter to make it work (it was expensive for just an adapter). Also, the Viture Spacewalker app on my iPhone works great with the Goovis HMD. I think the only downside (to me at least) to the Goovis is that it looks goofy when you are out in public, so like I wouldn't want to wear the Goovis on a flight or a train, whereas the Viture just looks like a pair of sunglasses. But as far as functionality, the Goovis wins hands down. One other thing, a minor complaint, is that the way the USB connector is designed. Goovis supplies a USB cable, but I have not been able to use any of my other USB cables with it, because of the way the USB port is inset on the headset. But like I said, minor complaint. Image quality and comfort are superb. Another thing I want to mention is gaming. These are very cool for gaming. I have used my iPhone with PXPlay app to connect to my PS4, and all I can say is wow! The image looks extraordinary. I also tried with Xbox Game Pass streaming, and again, it looks great. Lastly, I want to mention that I also have a Meta Quest 3. If you ask me how the Goovis (or Viture for that matter) compares to the Quest 3, the experience is really not the same. It's like comparing apples to oranges. The quest is VR, the Goovis is not. If your objective is to play VR games with full immersion, then get the Quest. This HMD is more for replacing your TV set. It does have a 3D mode, but it's not VR; it's more like watching a movie in the theatre with 3D glasses (it does work great, though, especially with YouTube 3D videos). The Goovis has sound output built in, but it's kind of tinny. You will want either earbuds or headphones for decent sound.

Almost perfect...
PROS: - Works great with Samsung Galaxy and Pixel Android phones for "Desktop mode" use - Great to watch movies and play games - Image clarity and resolution adjustments (horizontal space and per eye resolution) - Super lightweight - Plug and play - Ability to use with any prescription glasses CONS: - Speakers quality and sound bleed (others can hear what you are listening to) - Almost impossible to find a USB-C cable replacement due to the tight slot on headset (still looking for one, tried 5 different ones so far) - No adjustment for screen size - No image stabilization (bump roads === shake images) SUGGESTIONS: - Remove 3D video feature (make cheaper) - Remove speakers (make cheaper) and rely only on audio-aux and bluetooth - allow to tilt closer eyes - rubber around lenses - Allow outdoor use without damaging lenses with sunlight (UV protection?) - Include a blackout adapter for immersive video watching experience (magnetically detachable) USB-C CABLE FRUSTRATION - First one of the ends of the included USB-C cable does not "click" to inform that is connected properly... only one end does (weird) - Cannot find a USB-C cable replacement (not even in their own website) - Not compatible with cables I buy on Amazon - I prefer breaded cable, because they are more durable, cannot find one that fits the headset - The slot in the headset is too tights and won't fit anything that is not the out of the box cable
