I got this as a back up light for my tank. The system I currently have has a light system built into the lid of the tank. It is florescent tubes and keeps failing due to water ingress. Once it fails completely I intend to change the whole system inside the lid with this simple light strip. It comes with a pair of sucker clips but I intend to remove the suckers and glue to clips inside the lid. I have tested the lights so that I could write this review. the light has the ability to provide a fill spectrum of colours from early morning oranges right through to the red of a sunset and blue of a moon lit night. These colours can be adjusted automatically throughout the day giving the fish the complete illusion of sunrise to sunset. In addition to the automatic colour change the lights brightness can be completely controlled both manually or automatically and the switching off and on can be done over a 15 minute cycle so as not to startle/frighten the fish.In DIY mode you can set the lights on timers over 5 periods (4H, 6H, 8H, 10H, or 12H)and 9 colours to enhance the glow of the tank and the colours of your fish.The controls are inline and are relatively simple to set up the 24/7 auto mode or the DIY manual modes, they are intuitive so it is simple to work out what to do.I should have gone for a slightly large set of lights because the wattage is higher hence brighter, but I already have underwater lights on a bubble curtain so this will be bright enough. these lights are waterproof so can also be used completely submerged.I am impressed with the control and flexibility of these LED lights also with the price, I originally reached out to the company that made my tank lid to replace the lights which are just two florescent tubes and they wanted over £100 this set of lights has far more capabilities compared to florescent tubes and a 1/4 of the price.. I recommend this light system...

This aquarium light from Hygger is very bright if needed and is easily adjusted to suit needs. Its a great replacement for the old lights in the aquarium giving a nicer more even spread of light. I like the fact it comes with a long power cable reducing the need for an extension cord.The two sucker style attachments that are clipped to the light once wetted do a really good job of attaching this light to the hood. I don't know how well they'll last over the years as I've found suckers do be come hard and don't work as well.The ability to change brightness, timer for how long the light is on is easy to set up with the click style controller. A little LED illuminates displaying which setting you have chosen. Overall it's a really good option with some great features, would have been nice if more or spare suckers were included to secure the light.

I have a tall, narrow aquarium and I really struggle to get light into the depths for my plants. This is a great solution as the light array is full submersible.I have added this as a 2nd lighting rig to my hood lights and together they produce great full-spectrum lighting.The controller has a reasonable range of options to allow different colour profiles and light duration. It even includes a 24hr light cycle mode, which changes the colour and intensity as the day progresses. This is the option I have chosen. everything is simple and intuitive.The 8W lighting is currently £21.99 which is slightly above average for similar setups, but hygger is a name you can trust, so I think the price is reasonable. I'm really pleased with this and happy to recommend it.

Very bright high powered tank light.I know this is a submersible tank light however this will be mounted to my hood, i could not do with seeing led's in direct visual sight in a tank, this will be replacing a set of tube lights that are not as good anymore and flash from time to time, i do like the fact that this remembers its last settings when power is disconnected, i will only ever be using it for the bright white light for 4 hours during the day so will be connected to a smart plug that i can set a routine and turn on and off by voice, i have a set of neopixels that do all the colours for me tucked up around the full upper edge of the top casing of the tank. this will be a very nice upgrade to the aging lights in the tank already and should i wish to use the additions; lighting functions then i could but would have to keep permanently on power.Considering the price of decent tank components this is very good value, was looking at way more than this to replace the tubes in mine with LED versions so even better..

On opening the box when it arrived, it looked like the light had been out the box before. The thin plastic film covering the leds was all over the place. When I plugged it in to the power and turned on it only showed green light leds. Trying to scroll manually through the 9 colours it says the light can produce, I had 7 green and one blank and one full LED’s as image shows. Tried putting the light into the timer function, set a 4hr timer. The leds came on and instead of sunrise orange had pale green getting brighter for 15 mins then it changed to all LED’s white light. Obviously its not working correctly, so went on Amazon to see what and how that could be reported. Only option was to return the item, wait for them to recieve it as a return then wait 5-7 working days for payment to be sent back to me. Why isnt there an option to have replacement sent straight away ? And wait for payment of the replacement until the damaged one is returned?On reading another review of this light, it seems they had a similar problem to me, maybe a faulty batch has got through? I hope this is just a small blip, most of my friends say how good the lights they use by Hygger are I must be just unlucky.
