Cast iron door stop is heavy?I need one heavy door stopper.

This doorstop was NOT heavy enough. It was also not thick enough to wedge under the door. Not recommended unless as a paper weight.

Does it work well with carpeted floors? I'm wondering if it fits under the door and stays put.

I am not certain it would work well with carpets....I would think so. It definitely stays put with the added foam base we installed on it.

Does this product come in a version that will hold a heavier patio door open?

This door stopper is pretty heavy. I think it would work.

Will this hold a heavy commercial door on ceramic tile?

Nope. This door stop is too small and the bottom would not have any grip strength or friction.
