Your thoughts, sources, manuals, textbooks, notes, and sketches, on tap. Long battery. No fluff.
Before I get started, this does not have any office software on it. No Calendar, Mail, or other software. The examples you see in the photos are templates for your notebooks, for you to write on. There are no sounds, alerts, notifications, alarms, ads or anything else. There is no email, text, instant messaging, social media. This device is strictly for reading, writing, annotating, transcribing, whiteboarding, etc. Anything you can do on a dry erase board or a notebook, you can do with this, only you can fit (probably) millions of pages in it.You can have hundreds, maybe thousands of books on it, plus thousands of notes of your own. Sketches etc.But that's it. It doesn't have Netflix or Amazon or Hulu or anything else, other than reading, writing, drawing, highlighting. That's the gist of it.Negatives: 1. It's not purple. I don't like things that aren't purple.2. No basic shapes, booleans, masking, etc, while drawing.3. No way to directly pull ebooks from sites like HumbleBundle, Amazon, or other eBook sellers/hosts.Positives:1. It's got a decent battery. Charges fast enough compared to other devices of similar size, and lasts far longer in most cases. Standby power it lasts WAY longer than my Tab S10 Ultra or My S24 Ultra.2. The screen is clear enough in the day, and the backlight works well enough at night, I can read or sketch just fine.3. The draw/highlight colors are limited, not vivid, but clear enough to discern them and use them practically.4. Great for simple note taking.5. Writing to Text conversion is -mostly (8/10) accurate.6. Fantastic for reading, annotating, transcribing, note taking, and manuals.7. It doesn't have the capability to play games, no browser, no social media, no media at all. Which if I'm honest, is a plus. The kids won't try to steal it all the time, you can use it for work, to air your thoughts, or to work on projects, without the fear that it'll get dropped or spilled on by one of the minions. Unless you put kids books on there, odds are, they probably won't even bother with it except to draw. Make a habit of opening a notebook for them to find.8. There are templates for planners, to do, calendars, etc. There are no ads, nags, built in "pro" features you have to unlock with a membership, other than storage/cloud sync, I believe.9. Always on, fast to boot.10. Honestly great for someone who needs less clutter, more of their own thoughts, and the ability to access information without having to go online for it.

Its the Legal Pad You Wish You Had Back In the Day
Just like the title says, this is not a tablet. Its a modern legal notepad that you write on. Its not for movies. It really doesnt do email. There are no apps. No reminders. No distractions. What it does is simulate a legal size notepad with the benefits of copy, cut, paste, erase, endless markers and pens of all colors. If you could do it on a legal pad, you can do it on this, with one exception: Undo. Undo is POWERFUL. Mine remembered and UNDID 45 characters and then restored an ENTIRE page that I thought I had duplicated but had mistakenly erased. No legal pad can do that. Its also very good at managing and creating pdf file pages.I dont use the desktop or mobile app. I direct connect mine via USB and drag & drop. Its a rock solid e-notepad that gets the job done old school style.

Countering the complaints
I sat on it and broke the screen. They replaced it. My screen ghosted. They replaced it. Yes, transit can take time to ship and verify but they follow through. My paper pro replaces a paper notebook that I carried around for a few years. Okay, the fabric folio attracts dirt and can't be cleaned. Don't buy the fabric folio unless you normally wear gloves. I have purchased an off-market folio and a cushioned carry case and the pad goes with me most places. I have used my Paper Pro daily for about a year. Strictly personal use.

Did not last 2 months, Replacement is in limbo Buyer Beware
I purchased this for work in November. When it arrived it was awesome. It took a little getting used to. Around mid to late December, I had it pretty mastered. I noticed 1 single page I had written on disappeared. Just one, but it had important notes on it. I thought I may have accidentally deleted it. Could have been my fault completely. I talked to a coworker of mine who said he had been looking into these and I strongly recommended the unit.Fast forward a week and my coworker received his unit. We were comparing things and his screen was way brighter and the colors were way more accurate than mine. I thought I probably had not adjusted the settings, it was not a big deal to me. Then I started getting ghosting on mine. Ghosting would be the image staying on the screen even after I changed to another screen. This issue got so bad I would have to restart my unit to clear the page.I reached out to Remarkable through chat they were super nice about the issue and asked me to record a short video of the unit ghosting. I uploaded the video and they immediately agreed the unit was malfunctioning. Here comes the challenge. They told me DHL has to pick my unit up and ship it back to the factory. Once they receive my unit they will immediately ship me out a replacement. Well, that's not exactly great but I had to concede. It was a Friday 1-31-25, so I had to schedule a pick-up for Monday 2-3-25. When I printed the DHL shipping label it ships to Hong Kong. Yeh, not anywhere local to the states. It made it to the factory on Thursday 2-6-25. I followed the shipping status. Friday I reached out via chat to see what the status of the return. They said they received the unit now they had to verify the unit was malfunctioning. Reminder we did this through the video I submitted during the original chat. They said they received the unit on Thursday it usually takes 1-2 days and a replacement would be sent. I reached out again on 2-10-25today Monday because there was no movement and the tracking on the remarkable website will not update any progress. I have been told now it will be examined and this takes 3-5 days to determine if the unit is defective or damaged. This started January 31st it is currently Feb. 10th and they have not evaluated the product to see if they are going to ship a replacement. I just ended a chat and I have no more information than when I received the notice it was delivered over a week ago. When I googled the ghosting problem it seems to be pretty common. As of right now, I would not recommend this product. I had my unit for 2 months and this is what happened to me. My coworker leaves his screen on all day every day at our office and has not experienced the problem I had. I didn't leave my screen on, I had a protective case on it and rarely used the backlight.
