40 AA batteries. 56 AAA batteries.

Is there space for 9V batteries?

Yes. I cut the foam out between 2 of the battery holders and a 9v fits perfectly.

Dose the battery tester test aa & aaa alkaline and lithium batteries?

It does. The rechargeable batteries are 1.2 amps alkaline are 1.5 amp. Both will go to the green, 1.2 not as far as the 1.5, but they are still good.

Two different specs in add, 40 or 50 aa?????

It holds 40AA and 50AAA and a battery checker. If you look at the picture, the orange top batteries are the AA and the blue top batteries are AAA. If you want, you can count them yourself. It makes for a neat package of a lot of batteries, which otherwise would be all over the place.
