I'm so excited:)
The media could not be loaded. So before I bought this I killed too new trees. With this I will be able to water them properly and won't have to worry about the Texas summer heat evaporating all that water.

Works great!!
Very easy to install, transformed used 5 gallon buckets into raccoon-proof watering options.

Works excellently!
My trees are loving these and thriving. Easy to install so long as your ground is not rock hard. I’ve ordered a second set as I’ve discovered more places to use them. Like knowing exactly how much water I’m giving out and that it’s not being wasted thru sprinklers.

Great for new plantings
I looked into this as we were planning where to plant new trees. (Nursery folks warned us that we should plan to irrigate new trees for a year or two. Especially with our drought.) We have put off planting trees, but planted shrubs. This system allows us to use our existing buckets. We fill the buckets once a week. Shrubs are doing well. I plan to get more for our trees.

Seems to work fine
This allows us to feed our larger trees slowly and the spike just stays in the ground. Have not had an issue so far, except in trying to find a drill bit large enough to drill the hole in the bucket. That would be the only thing that would be nice with this package. You can get the drill bit in another package, but then you don't get some of the other stuff included in this one.

Tree IV is a great solution to watering!
Needed tor replace broken ones (mower ran over one) and some lost ones for the Tree IV buckets. I love the concept, it works so well to water my young trees and bushes that need extra care in the hot and dry summer.

Top of my root-well is always bone dry with this IV. I'm thinking watering the old fashion way may be better?
An expert told me to water the root-well with 1.5 gal/day for the first two months for new trees by soaking it from the top of the root well, then 1.5 gallons a couple times per week after that. The top of my root-well is always bone dry ( potted tree) with the IV which makes it hard to gauge if I need a bit more water or not ( its been 110 degrees here lately) I can stick my finger down 3 inches or so and its bone dry even though I used 5 gallons with the IV 4 days ago..I'm technically supposed to wait another 3 days to water with another 5 gallons according to the Tree IV directions.I'm starting to think this item is not needed and just pouring 1.5 gallons of water per day on top of the root well would be better since then I can also be gauging the dryness better ( The old finger 2-3 inches into root-well method) It just worries me the top of the root-well is always bone dry with this IV system.Any thoughts from experts or knowledgeable people on this?
