It's possible that I received a less-than-perfect unit, but I'm giving it a week or so to see if it will work out.Using this with a 2017 MacbookPro, power into dock, then dock into the USB C 'charging/data' port, with only an Ethernet cable connected to the dock.HEATWithin 30 minutes the dock is too hot to hold my hand on it. This is worrying because that amount of heat can't be good for the internal electronics. I feel like it will die sooner than later just from the extreme heat. The product description reads, "low power", but how is that possible when I could cook an egg on it?NETWORKWhen unplugging the dock (keeping power and Ethernet connected) or switching users, the network connection is frequently dropped. Cycling power to the dock or restarting the computer resolves the issue.POWERThe computer shows that it's getting power, but maybe not enough to run the computer and charge? After sleeping the computer, a few hours later the adapter was still very hot (though the Macbook was charged, asleep and not doing anything). After a few more hours, the adapter was cool but the Macbook had died, with a charge level of 0%.My solution was to plug the Macbook's power adapter directly into the charge/data port and the dock into the other port - which is okay, but now I lose a port and it's two things to plug in each time instead of one.Plugged in this way, the computer is definitely charging, all the ports seem to work fine on the adapter and while it's warm, it's not nearly as hot as it was.PORT LAYOUTWhile this does not impact me at all, the MicroSD slot (labeled with the older name, "TF" on the dock) is partially blocked when a VGA cable is plugged in, so don't expect to use both at the same time.I like the combination of ports - VGA is a somewhat rare option that saves me from yet another adapter - but the first 24 hours with this device is not giving me a lot of confidence.UPDATE 8-16-18After a couple of weeks of use, the adapter consistently gets almost to hot to touch (even with power going direct to laptop, as described above). It's still working, but I wonder for how long.

As far as I searched on Amazon, this one had (probably still do) the lowest price for the same combination of ports. Have used it for a couple of times, and it worked as expected. For the very first time I used it to transfer some files through the USB port, it got somewhat hot (not burning hot though), but not for the second time. Overall, as for the functions, nothing to complain at all. It looks to me that the manufacturer gave some thoughts into its original product package, and also the seller sent a well-written email to me after my order was shipped. A thumbs up.

Works well and has a sleek design. For the price it offers a great service. I particularly like that it includes the usb and the as card slots so I don’t have to carry a bunch of different adapters with my computer when I travel.

I like this because it provides USB 2 and charges as well as the video outputs. I purchased several and will be using them heavily throughout the year and will report back if any issues.

I love it because it gives me more needed connections for an affordable price.

It’s loaded with ports but unfortunately not all worksI got the original one - which had issues with type-c port and Ethernet so I was given a replacementThe replacement is having issues with audio port 3.5mm jack which my MacBookPro 2018 is not recognising, now I am sending this back for a refundI gave three stars as the other ports are working however wouldn’t recommend

Like this one! Got a similar one for my MVP before but it only supported USB and SD card. With this one, I can connect my MVP to TV by HDMI. It is definitely pretty useful. Like it so far.

Works great, hasn’t failed! Full speeds on everything so far.The microSD port is upside down which is weird but doesn’t matterIt gets surprisingly hot while any ports are active (not sure why, possibly because conversions are voltage intensive)
