Truly great value, for a full frame mirror less cameras for the "stills" photographer.
This camera may now be deleted. For the photographer (more so than for the videographer?), this camera remains an excellent tool. For less than £900, not only do you get an excellent, well made, modern camera, which in all respects, bar possibly the contrast only auto-focus, matches the latest & greatest top end cameras, but in this kit comes with an excellent 50mm F/1.8 standard prime lens, but also a very underrated 18-40mm light weight super compact zoom lens. This latter lens may have a relatively slow, maximum aperture, but it would be difficult to distinguish the results from more expensive, heavier F2.8 (super wide-standard) zoom lenses, @ f4-5.6 apertures. Indeed with the excellent IBIS of the Lumix S5 the slower apertures & speeds, can still be used, except on faster moving subjects in low light.Just phenomenal value!

Full frame Swiss knife
It's really a little gems. Picture quality is above its price range. Versatility is spotted on, great for photo and great for videos. Just enough features to be future proof for quite some time, highly customizable. Main down side is autofocus, but that's because we're all spoiled now with cameras built for the social media era, it's more than descent if you learn how your camera and your lenses behave etc. You can't really go wrong with this for the buck

Perfect Underated Camera! ♥️
I have been researching between, Panasonic, overly expensive Sony, Nikon and Canon, first I wanted to get Canon R6 which turned out it overheats and after overheating its unfunctional, Lumix S5 does not overheat. Sony is good but too expensive, If you are thinking of getting A73, please don't, that camera doesn't have 10 bit and also is old camera, the colour science is not the same as Panasonic's best colour science, Autofocus in APS-C is perfect, in full-frame mode is almost perfect. Firmware 2.1 made the AF very good. You can record 6K with external recording with this camera. 😃 I believe the next firmware update will make the AF even better. I love this camera. Lumix S1H is an approved camera by Netflix for film making and this Lumix S5 is smaller but and better than S1H. THIS IS NOT A ENTRY LEVEL CAMERA.

Good camera with awful autofocus .
Good camera function, features and image quality, but as with the S5 the autofocus is DREADFUL. It's so bad I only use it with manual lenses and an adapter.

Fantastic camera for the money...
Bottom line - a fantastic camera for the money. I've been using mine for 3 months solely for photography, not videography. Picture quality is excellent, lots of features built in. Excellent performance at high ISO. I found the supplied 18-40mm lens a bit 'limiting' in terms of focal length and aperture and bought the 20-60mm lens secondhand ('as new' for under £200...) - a fantastic and underrated lens. I can also recommend the Meike 35mm f2.0 lens for this camera. Looked at Canon, Nikon and Sony alternatives before buying this and have absolutely no regrets.

Amazing piece of equipment
From first time I turned it on it just helps me to capture the most magical moments for myself and my clients. It’s without shadow of a doubt an amazing piece of work that makes me feel like it works for me not with me.
