This boba kit is really good! My kids love it and it’s nice to have a cheaper option at home to treat ourselves to whenever we want. The flavors are really good! And the boba pearls are a really nice consistency and taste. My only issue was that the box did arrive torn open a bit on the side.

This is my go-to brand for making boba at home and personally, it is about the same quality as other major boba kit brands on Amazon and slightly lower quality than the boba shop close to me. Nothing beats Kung Fu Tea. The price point of Yulu boba kits have also been a big factor for me because it’s cheaper than the other leading brand, will more often come with better coupons from subscribe & save, makes a larger volume of boba tea without sacrificing the taste, and it satisfies my cravings before I cave and buy more expensive boba tea at the shop. I have bought more than 15 Yulu boba kits already. Each part of this kit usually meets my standards and nothing is ever missing, however, every now and then a packet of the driest, saddest looking tapioca pearls would get through quality control and land in my box. Now this doesn’t happen often, but when it does it feels like the end of the world because every aspect of a boba drink must be perfect. If even one part is made sub-par, the whole drink is tarnished. I also suggest adding honey to the tapioca pearl packet before microwaving it to give it a taste similar to those sold at boba shops.

As a lover of boba, this kit knocks it out of the park! The regular milk tea is awesome. The taro is divine, but maybe a bit on the sweet side. The strawberry, well, I can live without this one. And the brown sugar bobas are just downright yummy. I have not yet tried the fruity flavors, but I intend to. In the meantime, I will continue to thoroughly enjoy the others. Also note that the servings are fairly small. So, when I really want a boba fix, I make two packets. It is still a great deal considering how much you spend for a boba drink in a boba cafe.

I wanted to enjoy boba tea at home, and this kit is great. I chose the kit with strawberry, taro and milk tea. However, I prepared it differently than the instructions and came up with a delicious recipe. I mix the packet with ½ tablespoon matcha powder and 2 tablespoons powdered milk, add 8 oz boiling water, and froth until dissolved. After chilling, I pour it over ice, add extra water for volume, then heat the pearls and spoon them on top. It turns out creamy, flavorful, and really satisfying.

Easy to make and delicious. The straw quality needs improvement. The straw will start to unravel after 5 minutes in the drink, especially if it’s hot. After 10 minutes, the straw becomes completely unusable.

Too expensive, maybe even way too expensive. Tapioca balls and flavour.
