Review: Great quality - Bought to take pictures with for my radiology school graduation. Very sturdy and anatomically accurate!
Review: Great for sketching - This skull is perfect for anatomy sketching and can live handsomely on a shelf for display when not in use. It has very good detail in the cast, decent individual tooth modeling (I’m not a dentist though lol), a nice clean white color that shows light and shadow well, a nearly invisible (at normal angles) spring in the mouth to attach the jaw and hidden magnets to keep the skull cap on. Seems solid...just a minor wish that the magnets were just a wee bit stronger in case someone picks it up not knowing the skull cap detaches...but I can’t ding the stars as stronger magnets might make removing the smooth cap tricky. I previously bought a skull model from another manufacturer and had to return it as it didn’t match the photo at all. The other one arrived with an ivory yellow color cast, had yucky old brass catches for the cap, ugly springs running from temples to outside the lower jaw and a cracked cap. Overall the other skull model looked ghastly and was of a lower quality. Additionally the shape of the other skull did not match the photos at all...so back it went. Very happy with this model though— especially after being let down by the other model; it even came with a short illustrated pamphlet naming the anatomical features.

**Q: What material is this? I want to make sure I can paint it**
A: Not sure which material it is but I was not able to use paint pens on it. I tried and it wiped right off even after letting it dry for hours. I ended up using sharpies.

**Q: What is this product made from? Ceramic?**
A: The Axis Scientific Human Skull Model is made from PVC-based plastic.

**Q: is it cast from a female or male skull?**
A: I would say based on the zygomatic arch, no hook on the back, and gonile area it is probably female but I am not 100%. Other features such as the temporal lines (generally seen in Males) is present but that may be to study a feature and not because it is Male.
