Exactly what I was looking for!
I purchased this for my Galaxy 10.1 Tab.. the brackets fit perfectly around the buttons (with plenty of room for a bigger tab if needed), they are foam lined so if you turn it horizontally it still holds on securely without risk of the tab sliding out. I purchased this for home use not for in the car. I attached it to the window in my kitchen so I could mount my tab in the kitchen, I've also used it attached to a fish tank near my bed for bedside viewing.. Perfect! I don't know that I would love it for the car, though it holds perfectly and it's really doubtful it would fall off, the arm is somewhat weak and I think if the tab wasn't resting on your dash or something it would vibrate a lot and drive me nuts. I had hoped to be able to use it for trips to hold the tab for my daughter in the back seat, but I'm not 100% sure it would work without driving her nuts due to it's weak arm drooping and not holding still. It wont fall off, but it definitively wont hold the tab in whatever position you bend the arm and my tab is one of the lightest ones out right now. (I place the suction up really high so it can droop to the level I wanted it, it does have a rotating ball that's lockable at the bracket so you can adjust it so it doesn't tilt the tab down)

Pretty decent for the cost.
Can't beat it for the price, I purchased this for a 3000 mile road trip.Pros.Price.Fairly stable.Fits Ipad 1-3 (I tested all three)Cons.Packaging was an inverted ups bag.The Ipad fits horizontal not vertical, so when you orient the ipad vertical the grips don't hold it on the bottom but sides, it seems like an oversize as its adjustable and a mere 1 inch of extra adjustment would allow for both grips. So the only real complaints arn't really complaints but features I am sure would come with a more expensive device, as a budget item its great.Rough roads make it bounce a bit (still stayed on)Great for Video viewing, or GPS, not so much for web browsing, pushing buttons is enough to cause a slight bounce better with the lighter IPAD 2 than the 1 Or 3, although functional with all three.

Sticks on my windshield like superglue! Like it!
This sucks on my windshield, cold or hot, as if it was glued on. It does tend to lose its stiffness when it heats up in summer inside of your car so your tablet will be moving all around the place while you drive and it tends to slouch. It will definitely not scare the heck out of you while you drive by falling off your windshield because that sucker sticks pretty well!

Parts are OK and parts are cheap but it might be OK for some
The OK part is the "gooseneck" part that vacuum sucks to the windshield except for the fact it is about 2 inches too short..The cheap part is the "clip-on" part that grips the tablet.. Why? you might ask..OK, heres why:1. it is cheap plastic that flexes..2. the "grip" parts are too deep for current generation tablets.. what tablet is an inch or more thick..? most are half an inch or less..3 The "Slide-on" or "snap-in" part that connects to the "Gooseneck" part does not fit.. Of course there are no directions but most would not need directions it is THAT simple.. but being simple does not mean it actually will work.. once it is assembled the plastic base of the slide in part interferes with the lever used to adjust the tablet gripping device.. NOW a few moments with a sharp box cutter (with luck all that will be cut is the plastic and the user will be left intact) and it will fit and work..No, I did not try that small surgical modification since I plan to return this and get one that will mount to the floor for a few bucks more..4. Finally, for my need, the tablet gripper part does not open wide enough for my thinkpad android tablet to be used in portrait orientation with the gripper arms (those way too long gripper arms) at the top and bottom.. and NO I did not want them on the sides since the swivel is way offset on the gripper part..All the above said, if this configueration will work for you then buy this by all means.. But have that box cutter at hand and be sure to carefully use it..UPDATE:This thing is, well, cr@p, more or less depending upon how handy one is with tools..I decided it was too much trouble to return it so I took pix to show just how it does NOT fit together without some surgery..look for my (this is the first time i will have tried this) pictures of what is wrong with this thing and how to make it fit together..UPDATE 2:OK, after the surgery needed to make this thing go together, i tried it in the car.. my thinkpad tablet weighs about 1.7 pounds and this can't support it unless its hanging down from the top of the windshield..it might work well for a smart phone but not for a tablet..I won't remark on the gripper mechanism being made for something far thicker and smaller (think a brick) than a real tablet but (as you can see i'm now remarking <smile>) WHY..? why made for something over 1.5 inches thick and less than a pound in weight..? is there such a device one would want in their car.>?IF I could return this I would but after making the mods to make it work it does't work and is not eligible for return..Changing my star rating to 1 star..

Great for Toshiba Thrive in a Big Rig!
I drive an 18-wheeler for a living and have used this a few times now while testing various GPS programs in unfamiliar places. With as much bouncing as occurs while driving a big rig I fully expected it to come loose and fall or at least droop down after repeated hits, but while it certainly bounced around it always returned to its original position. I'm quite happy with this!UPDATE: Not long after my initial review the support arm seemed to loose some of its rigidity, but it's still working for me because I have it mounted low and the arm rests on the dash for support which puts the tablet in front of the dash where it's easily visible and controlled without being too distracting. Still works as intended and still happy with it - just thought I'd mention the arm loosing its strength a little (probably due to the heavy weight of the Toshiba Thrive). Probably to be expected from the way it gets bounced around in the truck with the weight on it. Still holds to the windshield quite well, though, despite all the thrashing it gets - only had it come off once thus far (although I admit I only use it sporadically).
