Stylo+ 2050-15 Rotary Tool Kit with 15 Accessories, Engraving Pen

I use this tool to engrave mirrors. Im fairly new to it so its been nice to have a reliable tool. Makes the work easy when you have tools that are easy to use. Its a pretty strong little thing and does great. Highly recommend this if you are a hobby type. It has many uses.

Very useful if you need something with less power. I use these on smaller projects and don’t need a power dremel so this is great. I like to be able to adjust the speed a little depending what I am working on. It’s easy to use and good to go out of the box with comes with several extras that are nice value. These are small, slender compared to larger bulkier dremels and easy to hold. I do think it lasts a long time, I had one of these for a years and just purchased a second one to have when I have help around the studio.

Great little tool. I was a little skeptical on power as it looked pretty small. I engraved a bunch designs in hard maple and had enough power for what I needed it for. If you want to remove a bunch of material aggressively this isn’t made for that. Cant speak for it long term but happy with it after the first project.

I purchased the Stylo+ (2050-15) approximately two months ago. For the first month and three weeks, this thing worked without issue. It was exactly what I was looking for and the results were great. For the past week or so, though, I've been having issues with it. First I noticed that, as I was carving/engraving wood, the bit would start vibrating heavily. It seemed as if it wasn't spinning in a balanced manner. This is an problem when trying to do any detail or line work. Next I noticed that the motor seemed to whine or fluctuate quite a bit. Then I noticed that the speed selector wheel would adjust while powered on (see video), even if the bit wasn't in contact with any material. I set it at 5, but it will start lowering to around 4. The only material I've ever used this device on is wood. It has not been used on anything else. I have video of both issues, but Amazon only allows me to post one video per review. I contacted Dremel support after I initially noticed the vibrating or out of balance issue. Their response was to send it in for diagnostic and they would let me know if there were any additional charges for the repair after they had a chance to look at it. There was no offer to provide a pre-paid return shipping label or to initiate a replacement on the device. I've had this thing for only two months and now I'm responsible for paying to return it and may be hit with additional repair costs? What kind of customer service is that? I don't know if this is a common defect, but I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this device and with the customer service that I've received to this point. I will probably end up sending this thing in for repair. I don't see that I have any other choice. However, I seriously doubt I will be purchasing any other Dremel products in the future if this is what I can expect from them. I'll provide an update if/when I do send this thing in for repairs. **UPDATE** As promised, here is an update on my issue and experience with Dremel support. After reading my product review, a member of the Dremel support team reached out to me offering to make this right, seeing as how the tool was only two months old. I received a replacement tool and a prepaid return label for the defective tool yesterday. The time from first contact to receiving the tool was 7 days. I'm definitely grateful that they replaced the faulty tool and I have updated my rating accordingly, but I would offer the following suggestions to the Dremel support team in regards to customer service. First, your tech support should be a little more engaging. In my initial contact with support, I identified the tool as having been purchased in February, meaning that the tool was only used for two months. I was told to ship it to the repair center (on my own dime) for a diagnostic and that I would then be informed of any repair costs. It was only after I posted my negative review that a member of support reached out and offered the replacement tool and prepaid shipping label. Had this been offered when I first contacted support, I would have been satisfied and wouldn't have posted a negative review. Second, when dealing with a dissatisfied customer, it always helps to go a little above and beyond to resolve the issue. This could have been done by expediting the shipment of the replacement tool (it was send UPS ground) or by sending some extra bits/accessories for the trouble of dealing with a defective product. Again, these are just suggestions. I didn't factor either into my revised rating. I feel that a company shows its true colors when dealing with defective products and dissatisfied customers. There are going to be times when a product is defective. It is how the company deals with those instances that determines whether I'll be a return customer. That's just my opinion.

I used a great rotary tool that was private labeled for Craftsman and used it for years to do a few random things, but mostly for trimming my dogs' nails. It was small, but not as thin as this Dremel, and not terribly loud. Sadly, nothing lasts forever and it just wore out. Since I don't subject a rotary tool to heavy duty projects, I didn't want to spend a fortune, and bought a full sized tool from another respected name in power tools. It was OK but was disappointing in tat it had a plastic housing, which may or may not account for the vibration that didn't appeal to my dog. She tolerated it, but I'm sure the extra vibration (and noise!!) wasn't appreciated our nail sessions. So, I ordered this and while none of the reviews mentioned dog's nails, I gave it a try. My first impression when I opened the box was, "Wow, this is really small...", but didn't let first impressions define it. When I tell my dog that we're going to do 'beautiful feet' and grab the bag of Rawble that is reserved just for this as her special treat between grooming paws, she goes right over to her pillow and sticks her paws out for me. The first thing I noticed is that while it was really small, it was really quiet, which she appreciates as much as I do. On the highest speed it creates enough power to grind her nails quickly with the included sanding drums, and I maintain control of the tool easily. All in all, I highly recommend this tool for light duty work and it would probably preform nicely for more delicate craft projects, too.

I do a fair bit of carving and have used Dremels and Flexi Shafts for years. Holding a big Dremel for any length of time requires a lot of breaks due to hand cramping. Working with the Flexi shaft is better. but there's a stiffness to it, and if it's hanging, it tends to swing a bit which can throw off your pattern, not to mention the fact that as you adjust your hand to different angles, you sometimes exceed the bendability of the shaft and it will bind. So I got a Stylo. I think it's almost lighter than a pencil so no hand cramping. Actually it feels like a big pencil. Super good for fine detail work or removing material a little at a time. It will not handle heavy grinding or remove massive amounts of material all at once. it's not made for that. It does what it was designed to do very well. I love it.

Just what I needed, used primarily for nail work, the slow speeds, are perfect. It'd light weight, the cord isn't heavy making it easy to use and maneuver I didn't want a rechargeable battery tool, everyone I know who has one complains, even the more expensive models are unreliable, the often don't recharge after a short time the cord on this item is flexible and light weight, the tool is well balanced and easy to handle, even for a small hand my only complaint would be the awkward, deep set power button I imagine they wanted to make sure you didn't accidently turn it on and off but, the button is awkward and poorly positioned, you can't easily turn it on and off as you work with it, it takes a bit of shifting grip and very deliberate pressure on a area of the tool would hold to give the best grip. I've had cheaper tools with a better placed power button but, this has the smoothest sound when running and the most subtle speed control. most of my Dremel tools, have lasted a very long time

This was a gift for my Daughter who is into woodworking and she has been thrilled with it. She has always been artistic and this dremel has allowed her to explore woodworking to a totally new level.

Price is quite high. But product is outstanding.

Just arrived, but can't use, as it's got a US style plug, so I'll have to go to unanticipated additional expense to get a UK plug, assuming that that's possible. As it's being sold on Amazon UK, it's reasonable to assume that the product is UK compatible.

I got this dremel stylo for sanding down the nubs left from supports on 3D resin prints, it works great. Up until now, I've been using manual hand files to sand down the nubs. I specifically wanted a low RPM option that wouldn't be too aggressive while sanding delicate resin pieces, this fits that need. Level #1 has 5,000 RPM and is just right for sanding the resin, the slower speed allows you to have more control of how much resin is sanded without being too aggressive. I have not tried it yet on PLA prints but I'm sure it will do fine, perhaps at a higher RPM (there are 5 levels). I have a full sized dremel with the flex shaft but it was hard to control the proper low speed, and not nearly as precise to use. This stylo feels like holding a thick marker, it is very light which allows for some really intricate, detail sanding in tight spaces. It doesn't vibrate much and is not loud at level #1. I do wet sanding by dipping the diamond ball point in water continuously while sanding to drastically reduce the amount of resin dust in the air. The tool didn't get hot after about 30 mins of use at level #1. Overall, I'd recommend this tool for those wanting an easy, precise way to finish 3D resin prints. It will also work great for finishing traditional, cast resin pieces.
