Ear Plugs for Sleep - Comfortable Custom Fit Noise Cancelling Reusable Soft Silicone, 27dB Sound Reduction - Swimming, Travel, Focus, Work. (Air, Small - Medium)

Decided to try these after trying a cheaper pair from a brand with an unpronounceable name. I can say with 100 percent certainty that these are light years ahead in terms of quality, comfort and noise cancellation. I used them for the first time last night. They blocked out all noise. I have neighbours with a rather annoying barking dog and who also start work in the very early hours of the morning - add car, van and front doors slamming as well as loud mobile calls (they seem to like to have their company team briefings on the drive at around 4am), it does not make for a peaceful night’s sleep. The first important thing to do is make sure that you warm the ear plugs your hands first to bring them up to body temperature. This makes them squidgy and mouldable so that they mould to the shape of your ear canal. You can then press them into your ear and they mould to the unique shape of your ear - and this unique seal creates blissful silence! Because you can mould them flat within your ear, there’s no annoying lumps or bits sticking out which makes them perfect for side sleepers in terms of comfort. When you take them out they are easy to clean and there’s a little case included for you to store the current pair that you’re using. I have a smart watch with sleep monitoring and after using these, it reported the highest sleep score I’ve had in ages with much longer periods of deep, restorative sleep. I wasn’t tired or groggy at all. When you first take them out after using, literally everything seems really loud and annoying! Including the husband’s breathing! One thing worth noting is that these are so good at blocking out noise disturbance that if you have an audio alarm, you may very well sleep through it unless it’s very loud. I use the vibration alarm on my watch which works well with these ear plugs. The packaging is top quality and instructions with sleep guide are great. I deducted a star for comfort only because my hair sticks to them whilst using as a side sleeper. However this isn’t a big deal and they don’t leave any residue. The only other thing that would be a slight improvement would be to have the storage box for the in-use pair to be a little bit bigger. Overall a fantastic product that I would highly recommend.

I have been using these now for a month. Pluses are: Once you get the mould right, they do stay in the ear and are quite comfortable, they do block out most noise and they come with a handy little portable box (but I do not use this). The negatives are the box could be bigger so you don't have to change the shape of the earplugs to get them in the box, and that while it does block quite a bit of noise, I can still hear my upstairs neighbour walking around (which was the main sound I wanted to keep out). Has improved my sleep as I am not there listening to the other sounds that used to disturb me BUT I wish Soundbloc would make a heavier duty ear plug for loud footsteps, etc. Overall, gets the job done and if you were buying it for a concert, it would work to help protect your ears.

I don’t normally write reviews but felt I had to after buying these earplugs. I bought them as my neighbour has a very loud car stereo and goes to work at 5:30am and it wakes me up every day. I did some research and these earplugs had good reviews, so I bought some. They 100% did the trick. I never woke up once and had amazing sleep for about six weeks. I was very careful with them and washed them after every was as instructed. But then my ears became sore inside, and were weeping and then they went crusty. I stopped wearing the earplugs, but my ears went worse, and eventually had to go to the Doctors. He said that if you sweat a bit in the night, the sweat between your ear and the earplug can cause a bacterial infection in some people, called Swimmers Ear. It is VERY painful. Don’t get me wrong, these earplugs are amazing for blocking out noise. It might just be my ears are sensitive, but just be very careful. I am gutted as now I can’t use them anymore, as I had amazing sleep with them in.

Here's me writing the review I wish someone else had written when I was getting into the world of silicone plugs. If you've tried this style and found it frustrating, don't give up yet. You just need some pointers and you'll probably end up liking these way more than the kind you have to put into your ear canals. My problem is a snoring husband. My first defense is running an essential oil blend (equal parts thyme and eucalyptus) ALL NIGHT in my electronic diffuser. If you don't love the strong menthol aroma, throw in some lavender to make it more pleasant. When my hubs isn't sick, this blend can actually SILENCE his snoring. No joke. It opens up the nasal passages, which stops him from automatically switching to mouth breathing while he's asleep. So that's great when it works. But any kind of sinus congestion prevents that system from fully working, and that's when I need ear plugs. Now I'm a very petite boned 40 year old adult who still fits into teen clothes. So my ears are small, and I also have very sensitive skin which is very itch prone. I also like things to be clean and I loathe stickiness, which makes me think of dirty condiment containers at a fast food diner. But for these kinds of plugs to work, they have to be sticky, because they are trying to adhere to your skin. So if you're like me, you'll have to fight the urge to give these a thorough cleaning. If you clean too much, they lose their stickiness and become useless. The next key thing to understand is that though we turn to ear plugs longing for QUIET, effective plugs actually make your head LOUDER because they amplify the sound of your breathing, heartbeat, etc. Your own breathing basically acts as white noise that helps you tune out other sounds in your environment. So it's ironic, but we're really just changing what kind of noise we're listening to. Totally blocking out all noise is IMPOSSIBLE, so you have to let that dream go. What these and any other effective plugs will do is move annoying sounds to the BACKGROUND. They will NOT eliminate those sounds. At the same time, they will introduce a new white noise (your own breathing) that will help your mind further tune out the background noises. It works great for sleeping, but you need to have realistic expectations of what "success" will look and feel like. As for pressure in the ear canals, it's unavoidable. To really cause the effects I just described, the plugs must form an AIR TIGHT seal over your canal. This inevitably causes an increase in air pressure within your canals. Too much pressure can be relieved by breaking the seal, but then you'll have to create a new seal which will cause some pressure to return. The goal is to form the seal with minimal pressure. If you apply more pressure to an already tight seal, you will cause the internal canal pressure to greatly increase (think of trying to squeeze a new, unopened can of soda). Once the seal is in place, you don't want to press down on it anymore. As far as cleanliness goes, the whole sticky thing is always going to feel a bit dirty. The stickiness of this material will also cause all kinds of dust, pillow lint, hair, etc to adhere to the plugs. But take heart, because you can do a daily wash. Plop the plugs into a small plastic container. Add water and ONE squirt of soap (too much soap can erode the stickiness). Pop on the lid, shake vigorously. Then dump out the water, rinse off the plugs and let them air dry till night. This method will keep them sticky yet lint free which will help you feel less worried about infections. Anything less than an airtight seal will make you feel like these plugs aren't doing anything. But this isn't because these aren't quality plugs; it's because you don't have them on right. It took me a lot of time and frustration to figure out how to use these right, but I've finally got it and it is totally worth it. Now the first big thing to grasp (which every reviewer should be talking about) is TEMPERATURE. You must warm these up to your own body temp before they will do anything. I'm pretty sure that most of the complaints written about the plugs "just falling off" or not muffling enough sound are due to people not warming them enough. I had this problem for a long time. I usually reach for my plugs in a dark bedroom when I'm half asleep and frustrated, so patience is not abundant. When they didn't quickly stick and seal, I got very exasperated until I finally figured out that I wasn't taking enough time to warm them. The theory that a few quick rolls between your palms will do is a joke. The temperature of your room is a huge issue. If your environment is already cold, the plugs will take a lot longer to warm up. If your hands are cold, it will take longer. So don't give up on these just because they take a while to warm up. Instead, think of ways that you could speed up that process, like placing them between your knees under warm blankets or holding them in your fist for awhile. You need to warm before you start rolling, and since rolling allows for a lot of airflow, rolling will slow down the warming process. Your better off pressing them to warm them up until they get nice and soft, then roll them into a ball and press that ball directly over the top of your ear canal. It will naturally push down a bit into your canal, but nothing like standard ear plugs that go all the way in. Because stickiness is vital to the seal and no one wants ear infections, your ear does need to be clean and dry at the time you put these on. Excessive ear wax causes itchiness in your canals which will drive you crazy at night and make your plugs feel really dirty. For an awesome ear cleanser, buy some Hydrogen Peroxide. You can get it everywhere in the US, but here in the UK, I've only found it online (Amazon has some). Hydrogen Peroxide is a clear antiseptic liquid which is a fantastic PAINLESS first aid wound cleansing solution. It's often promoted as a nice oral cleanser (dilute 50/50 with water) but in my opinion, its greatest asset is its ability to safely and rapidly dissolve ear wax. You simply put some on a cotton swab or pour it straight into your ear canal (while tilting your head to one side so it won't just run out). You'll hear a crackling sound and feel like little bubbles are tickling your canal walls as it gently dissolves the wax. In cases of ear blockage, when you go to the doctor to get your ears power flushed, they use hydrogen peroxide. It's a great way to quickly clean your ears and stop irritation due to excessive wax build up. Why it's not sold everywhere is beyond me. I've used it my whole life and it's amazing. I always do a quick swab of hydrogen peroxide after a shower and before bed to prevent maddening itching from wax or soap residue. I think it's an especially good habit to get into when you're reusing earplugs just to ward off any potential infections. Now the goal is to seal off the opening of your canal. Covering more of your ear beyond that is excessive. Don't be afraid to pinch off some of the plug material to shrink it down in size. A smaller plug will be easier to work with than a mass that is larger than you need. For me, I can break one plug into equal halves. Using a whole plug is too much for me: it's harder to warm and harder to position. Plus, remember the pressure issue: a big mound of material sticking out from the side of your head will get smashed down by your pillow and cause the air pressure in your ear canals to spike painfully as soon as you put your head down (remember the image of squeezing that unopened can of soda or fizzy juice). Also, you can roll your pinched off bits together to form another plug, thus postponing when you have to buy a new set. You'll want to buy a new set when the plugs lose their stickiness or start to crumble apart. When either of these problems start, chuck that pair and start a new one. Just use one pair at a time, and keep that pair in a separate case. This company is very classy in that they provide you with a nice plastic case for your pair in current use. If you're not going to wash your plugs daily, it's vital to keep them in a case or they'll get debris/dust stuck to them very fast. One reviewer suggested being consistent about which plug you put in your left vs. right ear. For that you'd need two cases. I haven't gone there yet, but you might want to try it. To test the tightness of my seals, I mash my warmed plugs into position, trying to flatten them out so my pillow doesn't shove them further in. I then rub my finger tips together quickly right next to that ear, which produces a very soft sound. If I can hear it, I know the plugs are not in properly. When the seal is air tight, I can no longer hear the soft sound of my finger tips rubbing together close by. To minimize frustration, you could put one plug in place before you go to sleep. My hubs and I read a while in bed before we sleep, so putting both plugs in early doesn't work for me or I can't hear him talk. Unlike plugs that are simply trying to minimize sound a little bit, these plugs do a great job of muffling. But you should still be able to hear your alarm clock blaring (unless you have a soft one, but what would be the point of a soft alarm?). These plugs will move loud noises to the background, while cutting out soft sounds entirely. Now there are tons of these plugs available. This company definitely does a fabulous job of presentation by providing you with two classy, durable cases: one large cardboard one for your new plugs, and a small plastic one for your plugs in use. They also make their material black, instead of the usual clear, which prevents yellowing and helps those of us who struggle with the "dirty" feeling of sticky blobs attached to the sides of our heads. But once you understand the principles I've explained, you could theoretically make any style of these plugs work. I would imagine that some plugs warm faster than others, and that would definitely be worth paying extra for. I feel these black ones definitely outperformed some cheaper clear ones I recently bought which were like little rocks. I hope this review helps someone get a better night's sleep.

Unfortunately not good at all. I found it hard to mould them to fit the ear shape as they are soo hard it simply hurts to press against the cartilage. They didn't block the sound ( i live by the busy crossroad with buses and traffic lights near the railway station) but it's expected as they didn't soften to the mouldable state and when warmed in dry clean hands ( as per instructions) they just started to crumble to the tiny tiny parts and longer smears of goo on the skin so I didn't risk to neither put them in the ear again nor warm them more. Furthermore fingers are all "coated" in silicone oily feeling after using. Seem not to fall out. Didn't fit . Nice tiny box for near bed storage for one pair but i would prefer to have also bigger box as well for the rest of them to be stored, not paper box that might be open too easy ( potentially by nosy pets or kids).

I started looking into earplugs because I was suffering with insomnia and I thought (or hoped) earplugs might help block out the world a little bit. These are the first earplugs I've ever tried - and now I won't need to try any others! The packaging looks great. The earplugs are comfortable, even when lying on my side with my ear pressed into the pillow. I needed to remove some silicone from each one to find the right fit for my ears. I've had no issues with them falling out in the night - both of the earplugs are still in my ears when I wake up. These earplugs block out most of the background noises which were disturbing my sleep e.g. neighbours. I can still sometimes hear my husband snoring beside me, but the earplugs take the edge off at least. I was worried I wouldn't be able to hear my baby if he woke up in the night, but thankfully I can still hear him when he needs me. Overall these earplugs are just right for my needs! The blue colour of the earplugs means there's no visible discolouration, so they don't look unattractive inside the clear storage case. I did have an issue with the storage case no longer clipping closed after a couple of weeks of use, so the lid just stayed open. However, Georgia at Soundbloc very quickly sent me a replacement case (along with a complimentary pair of earplugs and a lovely handwritten letter) - excellent customer service with a personal touch! My only wish would be that the fresh earplugs had their own larger case so I could store them away until I'm ready to use them, rather than needing to keep the whole box in my bedside drawer. These are fantastic earplugs which have definitely helped me to sleep better at night. I'll certainly be buying more once I run out!

The ear plugs arrived in a beautiful presentation box with really useful instructions. At least this part of the experience matched the purchase price. For the first night the plugs stayed in place very well and kept all the sound out. However, I found that it was a bit uncomfortable for me to keep them in my ears all night. For the second night and thereafter, despite washing and rinsing my ears and these plugs carefully, they were never as sticky as the first night. This meant that I would try to push the plugs eve harder into place and hence experience even more discomfort. So, the product failed for me in function. Perhaps other people have better luck than me. In addition, after paying for shipping costs, it would have been cheaper to buy some other silicon earplugs from the supermarket (in my experience they can also work well on the first night). Hence the overall negative rating.

Love these silicone earplugs. They are quite big? So I take 1 and break it in half and that’s plenty big for both ears. They come with really nice case.

I used it for 6 months, after 10 days the Sticky substance will dray then it will not stay firmly in the ear I regrated buying this product, it is very expensive.

I got 11 days out of the 1st pair, but I wish they could block more noise.

I like how they feel, but if you push them too far in, you feel uncomfortable pressure. Granted, that’s a user issue, not the product itself. Pretty good at muffling sound, but I definitely could still hear things. Overall though, I was pretty satisfied.
