Easy, even slicing!
Bought to get better slicing for sourdough loaves. Works great. Secured more firmly to my granite counter than to my butcher block. Slices very evenly & love the easy thickness adjustment. No more mauled loaves!

Definitely worth the investment!
I hesitated making this purchase because of the price, but when it went on sale at around $42, I decided to try it out. Best decision ever! I always struggled to slice my sourdough and this machine is a game changer! My bread looks professional, comes out perfect every time. Easy to adjust the width and the suction cups on the base hold it perfectly stable on the countertop. Just be careful using it, the blade is very sharp and there isnโt a guard to protect your hand/fingers while slicing. Just go slow and steady. It will be fine.

Simple Tool, Big Difference
This rotary bread slicer doesnโt have fancy features, but it does one thing really well. My toast has never been more uniform. Definitely recommend.

So easy to use
This bread slicer is amazing! So much easier cutting bread than using a knife.

Manual slicer for crusty bread
Good for low loaves of bread, like handmade ciabatta or sourdough, but work on regular rectangular loaves as well. We bake our own bread in a bread machine, and due to the size of the loaf, the slicer handle hits the slice as it goes through the blade. Cutting the loaf in half works or just being careful to re-arrange the bread so the handle is on the outside of the slice as it passes over the blade seems to help. The unit has suction cups to keep it steady on the counter. There is no safety guard on the blade, so keep it away from children and be careful using it. Cleaning is pretty simple. Storage: you might want to keep the box. Because the unit is wood and steel, it's fairly sturdy and since it's manual and not electric, it looks very durable. The slices are regular and can go from very thin "melba toast" or "finger sandwich" thin to thick Texas Toast size. Since one of us takes sandwiches to work, an even slice is desirable for a neater sandwich.

Uniform Slices Mean Uniform Toast
Before this bread slicer for homemade bread, I'd get slices that were thin on one end and thick on the other. The thin ones burned in the toaster, and the thick ones stayed doughy in the middle. Now every slice is exactly the same thickness, so my toast comes out perfect edge to edge. Such a small thing, but it makes breakfast so much more enjoyable.

Effortless Slicing, Even on Day-Old Baguettes
Day-old bread can be rock hard, but this hand crank bread slicer went through a stale baguette like butter. I barely had to turn the crank. The blade is sharp enough that the tool does all the work. My husband, who usually avoids kitchen tasks, actually volunteered to slice bread for a party because he said it was "kind of fun." That's a win in my book.

My morning routine just got 10 minutes shorter
I used to fight with a bread knife every morning. Now I just set the thickness on this adjustable bread slicer, turn the crank a few times, and boom โ perfect slices in seconds. My coffee stays hot, and my toast doesn't burn anymore. Worth every penny.

Must buy if you make bread!
I make a lot of bread, and I found myself letting loaves go stale on the counter because I was dreading slicing them. I've tried both freehand slicing, and the popular bamboo slicing guides you'll find on amazon. I don't like the bamboo one at all. It splinters, the wood gets cut up with every slice (not just the bottom but the actual slats/guides too), it's slow and imprecise, it slides around all over the place. It's also a paint to wash with numerous parts, and just all around an unpleasant experience. This....I'm assuming this is a knock-off of the zassenhaus, which is imo way overpriced. Like even $200 imo is a lot for what it is imo, but it's a lot better than $400! I'm glad I decided to try one though, and I think if you bake enough bread (or even just buy your bread as whole loaves) that this is an incredibly worthwhile investment! I should have bought one ages ago! I love how fast and easy it is to slice, how easy it is to select the size of your slices, how precise it is, how fast and easy it is to clean, and imo how safe it is compared to an electric slicer! Obviously you can still cut yourself with this, but at least with a manual slicer if you do start cutting yourself, it'll happen slowly and you can stop before it goes too deep or you just lose a piece of your finger entirely! This produces such nice, perfect slices! It's actually rather fun to use! If you can swing the price, and you'll get good use of it, absolutely, seriously, just buy it!

Very good
I was rather nervous about buying this. I have used an electric bread slicer for years but they are heavy, clumsy to use and difficult to store. However this cutter is proving very good. It is well made and seems sturdy. The blade really is sharp, nevertheless a spare may have been handy. The only drawbacks are that the base is rather small to mount even say an average sized Sourdough loaf on but I am managing. Plus I really do not find the suckers on the base that useful. They stick to anything which means it can stick to where you move it to momentarily or where you store it. I may take the suckers off which looks easy enough to do. Nevertheless I am pleased with this gadget so far.

Worth the price tag
This puppy is as close to the European brand manual bread slicer for a fraction of the cost. I place it down on my granite countertop and donโt need to push the slicer down to engage the suction cups. It automatically does that and will not budge. The blade is sharp and cuts my sourdough loaf with ease. Adjusting the slice thickness is a breeze. Itโs super easy to clean and operate. It also came in a day earlier than expected. If you are thinking about getting a manual bread sliced, do not hesitate to spend the money for this, I highly recommend this product if you do not want to splurge for the more expensive brand
