Fixture manufacturer had recommended 25W equivalent (for energy saving), and I started there but they were way too dim. I purchase 4 sets of these and they are perfect, do not heat up or flicker and are higher quality than the other brand I started with. I was concerned the "warm light" might be too yellow, but it is much closer to incandescent than the bright bluish ones.
